And Dybantsa, despite losing his 2nd best player to injury, is playing every minute, hyping his teammates, taking on the challenge. HIs passion and effort is contagious.
He's already bigger & more versatile for the NBA w/ A++++ athleticism, & unlike DP, he actually wants to play ball.
DP is not a bad defender, but he's not particularly impactful. At this point, he's mostly just a microwave scorer. And he's very elite at that, but he doesn't sniff the overall impact on the game that Dybantsa does.
What Dybantsa did last night against an elite defense w/ zero help was epic.
DP is obviously a special talent, particularly offensively. But before we even get to the 'rest' stuff, AJ's playmaking and feel for setting up his teammates is leaps and bounds ahead of DP.
Defensively, AJ is already ultra elite. Takes dudes out of the game + still causes havoc as a help defender.
Coming into the season, I was pretty adamant I'd take Darryn Peterson first overall over AJ Dybantsa. I'm not sure it's possible to change your mind more from a season.
I don't know how any GM could watch this year & prefer DP to Dybantsa. All this media "DP is still a lock for 1" shit is nonsense.

Rondale Moore had one of the greatest individual performances I've ever seen vs. #2 Ohio State in 2018.
He was a True Freshman and completely tore apart a top-ranked defense.
