They’re so right. It’s only our societally-collective, but not unanimous, normalized indoctrination, that makes it seem anything other than truly shocking.
We were in the 2010 final and it was a Saturday iirc, so before that. Guessing around 2007??
Of course, with BYU now in the league, it’s impossible.
I see there are fucking TWO active shooter situations today in the US, so far.
I hate it here.
I get why they moved to a Saturday final — though the committee has proven adept at ignoring Saturday’s final result equally as well as a game that ends an hour before the bracket reveal.
It just makes the event less enjoyable.
This is the day I really miss:
1) an 8/10/12-team conference, and
2) a Sunday final
when the 4-game extravaganza of good basketball would start in earnest, and on a goddamn Friday. #Big12Tournament

But this being the ASUN, of course it’s not. The places are all made up.

I definitely remember 1998 because it was the one I covered as a journalist. They won day 1 and lost day 2.
OK! 2005 - lost to Baylor as a 3-seed.
1997 was also right — the inaugural Big 12 Tournament. I remembered playing 1-seed KU; I thought it was in the final, but it was the semi. Beat them and lost to Colorado in the Final.
K-State winning the league solo in 2007-8 and losing their first game of the conference tournament? That was fun. 😑
Know what I have *zero* recollection of? 2009-10 Nebraska being an absolute wagon and going through the regular season undefeated.

I’m sure I’m missing something. But I don’t remember #KStateWBB even making the Big 12 Tournament final, except maybe in 1997 vs. KU. Maybe during the Ohlde/Wecker years? Not the past 2 years when they were quite good. It’s kinda remarkable.
I’ll look it up. Gives me something to do between games.
