Considering how egregious the election fuckery was in Texas yesterday—and the fact that Republicans spent well more than double what Democrats spent on these races—it should be even more terrifying to Trump and the GOP that Democrats actually set voter turnout records in the state. Roughly 2.3 million Dems voted in the primary compared to 2.1 million Republicans, which is the first time since 2002 that they’ve outvoted the GOP in a midterm primary in Texas. In heavily Hispanic Zapata County, turnout was 143% the total number of votes Harris won in the 2024 general election
Even with the Texas GOP’s trademark election fuckery, the Democratic voter response should have Republicans more than a little nervous.

I am glad to see her laying this all out. But isn't she pulling her punches by saying they ignored protocol. Isn't what they did illegal? Also, working "behind the scenes" to support the campus against DHS/ICE sounds cowardly to me. Powerful people need to openly stand up to this lawless admin

I think I understand it. Owners of this outlet like the tax cuts and benefits to the ultra wealthy enough to overlook the lies, loss of global standing and influence, fascism, and utter incompetence.

This problem runs so deep. I wonder how many health services researchers are invested in the system they're supposed to be critically analyzing. That's not the level of grift we see from Means, but the defense of the US health care system by experts may rest on a massive conflict of interest.
