Attribution identifies the sources of the excess return of a portfolio against its benchmark by calculating the effect of each active decision on the differential in performance, these decisions being presented as percentages of the total excess return.
Since inception, all categories of exclusion made by VEGN have generated excess return, except animal testing. The largest positive contributions have come from removing utilities with high fossil fuel use, energy production companies, weapons manufacturers, and those with human rights issues. 📈

On an annualized basis, VEGN is up 15.66% (on Market Price) since inception, versus the S&P 500 which is up 15.27% in the same period ending 6/30/25, showing that over this time period, a sustainable index ETF provided similar returns to the broad market while not compromising on an ethical stance.
