From a cynical and racist perspective, if AIPAC can't have a Congressperson who supports unconditional aid to Israel, they would probably prefer a Palestinian anti-Zionist than an Israeli Jewish liberal Zionist who still supports conditioning aid. Easier to fundraise against the former.

Israel simply does not have the power to force the US government to do something it does not want to do. What Rubio is doing here, by claiming Israel forced the US hand, is making Israel the scapegoat for a US policy he knows is unpopular. This framing is going to be so bad for Diaspora Jews.

we are nearly a full three years since the genocide began. the only conclusion everyone should be at right now is that Israel should exist not as a Jewish state but as a state with equal rights for everyone. and the sooner we do this, the sooner we halt this rising level of anti-Semitism.

A conclusion I am increasingly reaching is that the state of Israel is behaving in a way that demands immense critique and criticism, and also that there is probably no way to have an anti-Israel political movement that does not raise the level of ambient antisemitism to at least some degree.

I cannot stress enough that another power - Russia - has been attempting to 'war crimes its way to victory' for *four years* now against a country less than a quarter of its size or economy and failing.
