That question is way too general to even contemplate.
But, as books are generally presented in alphabetical order, I'd say with other authors whose surnames begin with C ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Poor brain needed some snowdrops after that... ๐ฅด

2nd post talked about querying and the question about book comparisons.
'Apparently' this does not mean the book I read 10 years ago that inspired me to write and this is my homage to it.
It means where do you think your book fits alongside others' in a bookshop.

1st post talked about how questions need to be specific.
For instance, do I want to do peopley things: no. Do I want to do peopley things with you: yes.
Two completely different questions...
That was an interesting five minute scroll on social media before I got completely overstimulated and had to take the dog over the forest for two hours to decompress.
So, bear with me here... ๐งต1/4
You were great! ๐
I adored this book. Totally destroyed me, but was good prep work for Arithon. ๐
Interesting article. Particularly liked the comment: authors who have more than 50 books. ๐ณ Getting one published was a major mission! ๐ฅด

My autumn newsletter will be out in a couple of weeks, where I discuss the use of language and how it can influence a story.
Please sign up via my website (julescory-author.co.uk) if you haven't already done so, and post any questions you would like answered in the comments.
Congratulations. Justifiably proud. ๐
Oh, and apparently you need to open the teeny, weeny privacy screen if you want your video to work. ๐
Another amazing session from @britfantasysoc.bsky.social, this time on writing fights.
Such an interesting, interactive session, and confirmation from @stewarthotston.com that you don't need to know how to fight to write emotive, thrilling fight scenes. And he would know.
Do you think allowing MS Word to predict the end of my sentence and then deleting it to write what I want it to say messes with the algorithm? I do hope so. ๐
I'm not sure I have the patience. ๐ I might give it go, though. I could always claim some demonic love-child if it comes out slightly crooked. ๐ซฃ
My great uncle used to make corn dollies. So clever. I miss having them at this time of year.
Another fabulous day at the troubador.co.uk self-publishing conference. Excellent speakers that soothe the (sometimes... always ๐ค) self-doubt of authors and the (always) joy of meeting like-minded souls... and talking books all day. ๐๐ Thank you to all involved. ๐คฉ
Sometimes, I love being a writer - I wrote about pirates today! ๐
Check out my friend's amazing website, for all things rabbit ๐ www.therabbitrvn.org
Just received a royalty statement for The Bard. ๐ณ
That little ole book has been sitting there for 7 years, minding its own business. But people are still discovering it and reading about Tallen and Kade - which is mind-blowing, and awesome! ๐คฉ
That feeling when you read a book too fast because it's really good, and then finish it too soon, and you only have yourself to blame ๐ฅบ
Spent a wonderful day at @redwingsuk.bsky.social bookfest talking books, books and more books. Such inspirational speakers, particularly the panel on the highs and lows of getting published. Thank you to @nicolaknightwrites.bsky.social and her team for organising a delightful day.
Being around water always makes me happy ๐

Interesting example of the subtle use of language to reinforce an idea.
Sir Ian McKellen on David Tennant does a podcast... 'I was running alongside Hamlet, telling the audience what to see, rather than inhabiting him.'
Good advice for writers - let the characters tell their own story, the readers will take from it what they need.

Amazon has The Druid on offer. 6 quid! Bargain. ๐
Gave so much joy to others they forgot to save a little for themselves ๐๐
It's been a busy couple of weeks. A virtual book tour and lots of lovely comments. Another thought-provoking day with the British Fantasy Society on worldbuilding. And an interesting day at The Writers Conference, giving me lots to do! ๐
