Working on Palmer Amaranth. This one was labour intensive with all those spikes and leaves!

Paper trilliums and trout lilies

Paper trilliums and trout lilies

My most recent work: trout lilies and trilliums! These are paper sculptures. Spring ephemerals seem to elicit strong emotional response from people. What is your connection to these fragile blooms?

Thank you so much for your kind comment. I am so glad we don't have poison oak here in Ontario- I am so allergic! The idea with these is to help educate schoolchildren about these plants.

Yes poison ivy, oak, black nightshade, hemlock. The rose is multiflora rose, an invasive here in North America, morel is the edible one (hollow through the stem). Others are poison sumac, and ted baneberry. Nice identifying!

Thank you! I try to include various stages of the plant's life if I can. I copied this from my own garden.😊
