Didn't that food professor guy spend a lot of time and energy telling us all that grocery prices were high because of the carbon tax?
You know, the one that doesn't exist anymore, and seems to have had zero impact on grocery prices?
It's not like these same retailers are lowering prices when the price of oil - and therefore costs - go DOWN.
Once the price is up, and they realize people are willing to pay that price, it will stay up.
The price of oil has been down for months now.
Historic data shows gas prices at their peak in 2022-23, with a moderate spike last summer.
When the price of goods start to go up and retailers blame the price of oil, keep in mind retailers have done nothing but raise prices since 2023.
I would watch that.
Things I have seen for sale out of the back of a pickup truck on the side of the New Maryland hwy:
Fiddleheads
Strawberries
Honeycrisps
Russet potatoes
Smelts
My entire torso hurts, which I assume means tonight's riding lesson was a good core workout.
That or it was an indicator of how bad I need to work on my core.
"I asked Chat GPT and -" ok, I asked the exhumed corpse of Pope Formosus during the Cadaver Synod and he went "... ... ..." and then his jaw fell off and it was still a better answer
Years ago our admin did a red and black report. It took salaries & how much $ each instructor made in tuition $ for classes we taught-you were in the red or black. They released numbers once & shut it down bc humanities were producing huge $ for uni & engineers, business and scientists were losing $
I'm still best friends with someone I met when I was 12, we talk every day.
Maybe we could have both if we taxed the oligarchs instead of funding their losses at the expense of the public purse.
But if I do sleep, these 2 will be making guest appearances as my sleep paralysis demons.
I am "I hope that coffee I had after lunch doesn't keep me awake" years old.
Best part of a day off spent taking a course: 540 Kitchen's shawarma bowl
I can guarantee that any merger would not result in a cut to admin but rather to faculty.
Taking a first aid course today. Regret not bringing snacks. Apparently I still need something to fidget with in order to stay focused.
Thanks Garmin. Earned a Year of thr Horse badge while riding a horse.
Thanks π I've heard this a lot too, that muscle weights more than fat so it is "normal" to see weight gain even as your body composition changes, it's just really weird to experience after being told your whole life that the number on the scale is whar matters.
See he already has experience.
Gotta be @thefwordnb.bsky.social
I am convinced my scale is gaslighting me.
None of my clothes fit me anymore, they are all baggy and too loose. Some of the winter riding kit I bought in September is fitting completely different. Even my half chaps are loose.
My scale says I've gained 4 lbs since December.
This is the first morning for weeks that my Garmin hasn't yelled at me about my stress levels.
I really appreciate the fact that the author named actionable items that could actually make a difference.
Looks like the news about the cuts at Library and Archives Canada is finally trickling out to the historical research community. The institution has not been posting any public data, but I can say that the cuts detailed here DO NOT include the 2025 cuts.

Wow, it has been a rough couple of weeks. Really hoping we've turned the corner here.
Aaaaand power just went out.
I am wearing a ton of layers today. If you see me out and about and it looks like I am underdressed, I am actually suffocating. Leave me alone.
The reason I will be out in -30 degree temps tomorrow.
We had to say goodbye to our boy Moose today. We loved him, and were loved by him, for 19 years. He was the perfect little loving void - a total weirdo who loved people, tap water, and making his presence known by yelling at all hours. It's awfully quiet here today.
