They're just starting construction on the corner here too, with a supermarket, medical centre, café and crèche. The crèche wasn't in the original application, but I made a strong case for it in my submission so there's one going in now.

Yes these footpaths are required to be built by the builder of the 65 apartments to your left and when you lookn behind the fence you can see those paths shaping up.

On the eastern side of the road there's planning permission and those developers need to provide wider paths when they build too.

All those services are absolutely lacking too. Where are the apartments with no footpath access?

“Business as usual” won’t build a world-class research sector: Green Party responds to Research Ireland’s newly launched strategy | Green Party

Ireland cannot outsource its future to FDI alone. Research Ireland’s long-anticipated strategy does not match the scale of the opportunity that exists in Ireland, nor the urgency, given the ongoing geopolitical disruption

Esp communities like Kilternan & Sandyford BD where population is growing & we're pressured to zone even more land for housing.

Dublin 18 needs more from our Minister for Education & her party colleagues who tiptoe around the issue: lack of investment in the fastest growing area in Ireland. 2/2

The country needs more homes built. But in our area, it seems our calls for good planning are being ignored.

I spoke with David McCullagh recently on the need for government to build schools in our area - the area that's delivering more homes than any other. 1/2

Statement on Rotunda Hospital Remaining in Parnell Square accompanied by an RTÉ headline Government drops plan to move Rotunda to Connolly Hospital

Statement on Rotunda Hospital Remaining in Parnell Square accompanied by an RTÉ headline Government drops plan to move Rotunda to Connolly Hospital

As a board member of the hospital, I welcome the decision by Government to drop the planned relocation of the Rotunda to Connolly hospital. The Rotunda has been at the heart of Dublin City for over 280 years, and is a key part of the inner city's built and social heritage.

Women deserve quality healthcare, in a hospital that is up to the highest standards. A new planning application must be submitted as soon as possible for the critical care unit expansion, so that mothers and new born babies can receive the care they deserve in an appropriate, fit for purpose setting.

Great news! As a board member I’m delighted to see this hospital remain a part of our community, where it has been for literal centuries.

Did you tell him niece/nephew not considered a "close" family member under the tenancy rules?

If you or someone you know is a landlord or letting agent that respects renters rights, that's great. But it won't be necessary to centre yourself in this discussion. There are bad landlords and letting agents out there and we're helping vulnerable people who are targeted by them.

Landlords seem to be squeezing tenants more than ever.

I've been hearing so many more horror stories than usual that I'm doing a series to highlight what's happening out there with landlords and renters, what your rights are and how you can access supports.

320,000 customers weren't able to pay their energy bills last year

When asked why households pay more for energy than data centres, Minister Chambers said our view wasn't supportive of economic growth.

When will Government put the needs of Irish citizens over the interests of big businesses?

Green Party wins UK by-election in blow to Starmer The UK's Green Party has won its first ever parliamentary by-election in Gorton and Denton, dealing a bitter blow to Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Congratulations Hannah Spencer MP!

"A blow to Starmer" but also a blow to Farage.

Looking forward to blundering governments and divisive windbags face similar results in Dublin and Galway this May.

The online portal to submit dashcam footage of dangerous driving is delayed again.

The gov cancelled the camera enforcement pilot last year. The draft strategy to roll out camera enforcement around the country has been sitting on Minister @darraghobrientd.bsky.social's desk since May 2025.

One way to keep our city from sprawling into the Dublin Mountains is to build badly needed housing & community amenities on vacant/derelict sites in the city.

Janet Horner & others have been relentless on this but we continue to see Fine Gael & Fianna Fáil government policy holding back councils.

There’s still time to check seanadvoter.ie and get registered for the new Seanad Higher Education constituency before the February 26th deadline.

Please don’t assume you’re on the list as voters on the previous NUI and TCD panels were not automatically added to this new register.

Yes definitely. Unfortunately we've a right wing council who believe tax cuts are more important than properly funded council services.

We have 4 crews to look after clearing 23,000 gully drains in DLR.

What if there are badly installed drainage systems, culverts left blocked, pipes not maintained?

We definitely need more public scrutiny of how enforcement of these obligations happens by the council.

How are developers held accountable for the drainage systems they install on their land?

In the aftermath of Storm Chandra, we shouldn't leave developers and other landowners off the hook for how water is managed on their land.

Great to see the huge support for the Oyekanmi family.

I have written again to the Minister for Justice, his junior Minister and our local government TDs to appeal to them to use their judgement here and over-rule the decision made by their officials here rather than just rubber-stamping it.
