Excited to share our new @natecoevo.nature.com
paper. We identified microbes found across nearly all ruminants that act as the functional backbone of both the rumen ecosystem and the host, with major implications for food security and climate change mitigation. (1/8)

Hot off the press! Our latest paper led by @fernpizza.bsky.social, understanding how plasmids evolve inside cells. These small, self-replicating DNA circles live inside bacteria and carry antibiotic resistance genes, but also compete with one another to replicate. 1/

I'm happy to share a perspective that
@soniamodilevsky.bsky.social
and I wrote about a new and exciting paper in @science.org
with big implications for IBD.

π¨While the world is burning down around us, I'm happy to share that I've been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure. Though this is considered a personal achievement, it was only possible due to the wonderful trainees in the lab, who carried me hereβ€οΈ.

This is unacceptable. A total disgrace. Shame on the organizers. Leave science out of it! I am appalled to see this in the microbiology community π¦
