Yeah, during the Drakengard 3 LP, and...say, I have a theory now.
In that thread, we were joking that SE's greenlighting of DG3 was due to his earlier LP of NieR spiking sales.
Maybe it struck him seriously, and that was the ego tipping point, "inspiring" him to go full tilt on the self-fanfic?
For those new, almost none of this was in his Something Awful content for most of the time he was posting. He was the funny guy doing semi-parody screenshot LPs. The weird persona thing seemed to have become prominent via his personal "community" in Discord later on.
Compulsive lying is a sickness.

The Umamusume movie is like a middle school theater production that somehow got a million dollar budget and Christopher Lee as the villain.

I'm about 1/4 of the way through this book so far and this planet with deep slums that have constant precipitation of discarded holy text pages they're forbidden to burn and have formed entire landscapes is the most Imperium thing imaginable. #40k #chaos #deathtothefalseemperor
I look at my enduring fascination with obscure faiths, myths, religious imagery, ancient history, semi-outdated but wildly elaborate psychological concepts, and the cyclical nature of both stories and ages, and I realize that all of this can be traced back to playing Xenogears as a kid.

I didn't do any art for the 23rd or 24th, but over time I'll build up a bigger timeline of the pieces I put probably the most effort into each year since XG *really* got me drawing again. Ya love to see the improvement π

A small, rough pencil sketch of eight women, some armored, all armed, some armaments more probable than others. They fit a general fantasy aesthetic.
Sketch of some girls. Girls with weapons.
It looks rough because it's a very small pencil sketch, with the figures on paper between just under 5 and just over 6 inches, to show the characters' relative height in feet. Purpose is establishing look and costume for more proper illustrations.

Oh totally, "The Muppet Movie" is a documentary.
Much like Muppet kayfabe, we need to start seriously pushing Batman kayfabe.
We need future archaeologists who excavate our ruins and examine our artifacts to unanimously conclude that Batman was a real person.
That's actually good to know! And the more I learn is that it's not so much chaotic as so complicated it SEEMS like chaos. But, it starts taking shape when perceiving structures like that, the Local Bubble, a pocket of space formed from supernovae that our solar system is about in the middle of now.
The "Local Bubble" 5 million years ago, i.e. our intra-galactic neighborhood. Our sun on the left. Some other stars (Pleiades? Scorpio-Centaurus?) on the right, as the point of origin.
Is an astronomer who studies past skies like, a paleo-astronomer? Paleo-cosmologist? Paleo-astrophysicist?
I need one of them.
I have weirdly specific questions about what was different if we looked up five million years ago.
For real. Stories about the kids doing their thing plus just being kids served the whole premise of the setting so much better than the eventual paint-by-numbers battle shonen it became.
So there's either a very nuanced and elaborate explanation for all of this
or the answer is just "toxic yuri"
Everyone knows about Ryu and Ken. It's great seeing art about SF's other main set of bros Guile and Chun-li.
dang that's sone good haggis
So this probably set out to be a Harry Potter parody but it just ends up being Better Harry Potter.
Like other than being a dumb himbo who can't use magic, the hero's values are the narrative crux, and they are:
- eat dessert
- fight mean guys
- offer defeated mean guys dessert
- eat dessert
