I am in downtown Los Angeles right now and it is completely surreal to hear that Trump is sending Marines here. We are listening to mariachi music. People have dogs. There are teenagers here. It is utterly and completely peaceful. Please tell your friends.

This is very concerning. Huerta’s “crime” was essentially protesting an ICE raid. They say he obstructed federal agents. Prosecuting him is anti-union, anti-immigrant, anti-free speech, and anti-democracy.

The National Guard has arrived in Los Angeles, but they were not requested by California. Both Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass made it clear that the state did not authorize or want federal troops deployed.
I have a partial city view. No smoke. No flames. No rioters. Just a calm Sunday morning.
Of course there will be protests today, but they will be isolated and peaceful unless authorities antagonize.
