Amiga = best home computer.

these are the days where I'm glad we don't even have an AWS account
"Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes... Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared... " Anne Franke
Open Source won.
At least thatβs what where my bet is.
Open source is resilient.
Open source is adaptable.
I myself wouldnβt bet my company on a 3rd-party vendor when making fundamental technology choices.
So of course my own product also has to be open source:

Happy #Hacktoberfest! For the entire month of October, we celebrate the power of open source. Whether you're a maintainer or a first-time contributor, thank you for being part of the community. Let the contributions begin!
Happy #Hacktoberfest! π π»
what does it do for you? I tried and can't perceive the advantage but I'm quite curious
We're soooooo glad to hear its useful! Thanks for the mention and let us know if you have any ideas to improve it π€
The most underrated DuckDB extension:

I am already using it to:
- Fetch data from APIs
- Send emails
- Trigger Slack notifications
Thank you for this @qxip.bsky.social π
yeah we're getting a ton of those phishy messages too, yet another abuse of our opensource identities and projects on gh
Had a blast speaking about query.farm at the #DuckDB Amsterdam Meetup #3 where I had time to spend some time with my heroes @carlo.piovesan.io @samansmink.bsky.social @szarnyasg.org Tania Bogatsch and so many more awesome people! Thank You @duckdb.org for giving space to the community! #opensource
π DuckDB 1.4.0 is out! This is our first LTS release which comes with *one year of community support*. It also supports database encryption, the MERGE SQL statement and Iceberg writes.

absolutely, you must
you must be accumulating some interesting statistics
True, Claude just can't help butchering them. Unsurprisingly, I find Github Copilot is the best option for Action related action and it's worth saying they're incredibly generous with opensource maintainers
Interesting. QEMU 10.1 supports WASM and can run inside a browser. π€

We are holding the DuckDB Amsterdam Meetup next week, featuring talks by @rolandbouman.bsky.social, Tania Bogatsch and @qxip.bsky.social:

The event is already at capacity but consider joining the wait list because there are always last-minute RSVP cancellations.
Today is exactly twelve years ago since we created the lib/http2.c source file in the #curl source tree, and doing HTTP would never be the same again.
The paradigm shift going from one transfer per connection to possibly multiple transfers per connection was massive and took many years until [β¦]
New blog post on how Streamplace indexes ATProto, with my take on some PDS additions we could make to improve the ecosystem!
... just curious, how could Hetzner be the reason? I doubt the Hetzner moral police is spying on disgruntled users and pulling strings at meta in retaliation π btw I've been 10 years on hetzner metal without a single issue other than a few hdd failures over the years. Was your server on cloud?
Amazing work @tobilg.com πππ
Thanks to @qxip.bsky.social for the httpserver extension!
The queue is not that long? LMAO
> xxx is scheduled to be added in approximately 6 months.
that's a true horror story πΉ
Absolutely brutal AWS / cloud story. www.seuros.com/blog/aws-del...
Interesting to see @openalternative.co like this post. Aren't you guys gatekeeping Open Alternative indexing and asking opensource projects to pay to get listed? How about removing that altogether and helping #opensource while doing your paid promotions. You could make a difference if you wanted to.
I really wish there was a way to make #opensource again without money and greed poisoning everything. We're just as strong as the weakest link and this washed out culture of calling everything open for marketing puts our society at great risk. Humans must fight to save opensource from extinction.
