what a wonderful and horrifying image.
what a wonderful and horrifying image.
If you had 1,000 people competing in a free market to create new companies and products, would they produce more overall value if you also forced them to sleep only 4 hours a night? Think about that.
is there anyone in the #secondlife developer community interested in bringing back legacy search in the SL viewer? Issue is here:

Someone suggested this idea to me - a simpler way get non-overlapping tool windows - and I re-added it to feedback... does anyone know who the original idea came from? feedback.secondlife.com/feature-requ...

Who else is pondering this? What will you do with your newly-discovered free time? philiprosedale.substack.com/p/ultraviole...
Yes, it was based on an offline study of the entire grid, in one shot.
Its a 'Massing diagram' - the boundaries of the prims, not the details - from an offline render more than a decade ago. Original image is pinned on my twitter account.
It's a 'massing diagram' (only the bounding boxes of prims) of the entire world, made offline in 2008 or so. I animated it using the new Midjourney video thing.
I'm not sure the present situation isn't right? What are some alternatives? If the land was simply a lot cheaper, the world would become much bigger and much more empty, which would be bad for everyone.

Another piece of good #secondlife news: We fixed the long-standing problem with being unable to log back in after a crash, and our latest data shows that it is helping about 6 to 8 thousand people each day. Have you noticed improvement to relogging after a crash?
Latest #secondlife viewer now autocompletes nearby names... like a modern app should! Thanks supapuff for the original feature request.

Like geoguesser, but name the SL region:
Amazing! Thanks.
Dress to Impress, but in #secondlife? Anyone seen or working on anything like that?
Thanks everyone for all the data! Here is a scatter plot, showing that we can definitely improve startup time a lot by fixing the dependency on inventory size! Working on it, hopefully updates soon.
Second Life friends: Want to help me with an experiment? Use a stopwatch to time how many seconds go by between pressing the "Log In" button, and seeing your avatar in the world. Give me that number, as well as how many items you have in your inventory.

Thanks for this example. This looks very hard to detect, though, with a real change of false positives. Suggestions on enforcement (presuming the community did want to enforce)?
How do you know these are AI-generated?
thank you. I don't see the boasting? Are you saying that these tiled terrain textures were AI-generated?

Prepping for the AI town hall this friday - can anyone share some marketplace links to content that is using AI? Are we talking about using AI to generate images for the marketplace, or AI used to generate the content itself?
Sadly no. I remembered at the last minute. I think I may have a suit, somewhere.
Couple weeks behind, but wanted to share these pictures from Veronika and Juliana's wedding at Cerulean Township last month. Amazing setting, moving ceremony, and beautiful brides. #secondlife
How best to help them find that community?
