I propose we henceforth refer to them as “marshrooms” and “mushmallows” I think this is self explanatory

When Carney quoted leonard cohen I stood up and clapped
There’s a crack, a crack in everything
That’s where the light gets in
If someone’s keeping track of Canadian-themed cocktails somewhere I would like to add Robertson Screwdriver to the list
When the dust settles where should the border be drawn between Canada and Mexico
You’re welcome and I’m so sorry
Was reading the word “pirates” and my brain made me pronounce it like “pilates”
Why
Omg I forgot about the pies! Thank you 🙏
It’s just a donut shop, but it’s an example of how insidiously American industry can influence and alter Canadian businesses
Every single donut was handmade on site back then, not mass produced, frozen, and shipped out so that every apple fritter has the identical “organic” shape
Before they put it in cans and sold it at the grocery store, Tim Hortons soup was actually good. They served it in fresh baked bread bowls and it was delicious
I’m old enough to remember when Tim Hortons didn’t taste like cardboard.
Back when it was still Canadian 🇨🇦
In all our worst dystopian nightmares we never imagined it would be the Americans who would give up without a fight
Was going to suggest the French disassemble the Statue of Liberty and reassemble it in Montreal or Halifax but on second thought maybe Americans are ready to start talking about moving the border down to the 37th parallel instead.
Universal healthcare. Multiculturalism. Think about it.
All cats have Autism, all dogs have ADHD, and all birds have Tourette Syndrome
Hope that helps
Reading up on the War of 1812 and this is all starting to sound familiar
Even Monopoly has UBI
Look I don’t talk about my disability much because I don’t want pity. There have always been people worse off than I, and I have no interest in complaining about how difficult it is.
In these times it seems more dangerous than ever to admit out loud — but maybe that’s why it feels so necessary
I genuinely would like to see this happen. It would allow Trudeau to continue representing Canadian interests on the world stage, something he clearly excels at
They call him Governor Trudeau unaware that the highest office in Canada, above Prime Minister, belongs to the Governor General, appointed by the King.
Charles has a chance to do the funniest thing…
Appreciate it!
Still writing mine but watching cuz I like books
Nectar of the gods if your gods happen to be ents 😋
Just went out and bought the most expensive jug of grade A organic maple syrup and I’m putting it in everything: in my coffee, in my tea, I eat it on toast, I smear it over my glasses so a film hardens over the lenses and everything is maple-tinted. I live in a maple world and its so so beautiful 🍁
This cat loves boxes so much he dragged this smaller box across the room to fit inside the bigger box.
Tomorrow I’ll give Max a slightly smaller box and see how far we can take this.
It is this stigma, external and internalized, that I’m attempting to confront at this stage in my life. I know there’s nary a safe place left on the internet, but if I can unmask this piece of my real self anywhere, maybe this is the place.
You may walk by us on the street and have no idea. Or, you might catch us on a bad day and wonder if people like us should be taken off the street, locked up somewhere and fixed. All for our own good, of course. We know what people think of us. On a good day we may be tempted to think that way, too.
3. Though involuntary, tics can sometimes, with an incredible amount of effort, be suppressed. Suppression is very uncomfortable, at times even painful, and the suppressed tics will build up and eventually explode. But, this is how many people with tourettes go through life - its how we survive
2. Like many conditions Tourette Syndrome presents along a spectrum, but that doesn’t mean that there is such a thing as a ‘mild case of tourettes’ — by definition it changes over time, waxing and waning, and anyone with a diagnosis is at risk of severe attacks.
1. Tourette Syndrome is not a psychological condition. It is neurological, the effects of which firmly establish it as a physical disability. Many are still fighting for it to be recognized as such around the world.
You may notice an update to my bio.
In the interest of unmasking and destigmatizing my condition, I’ve decided to start sharing some of my experiences living with Tourette Syndrome.
Let’s start by dispelling a few myths: 🧵
