Also no principles. At all.
Rubio: βThat entire regime is led by radical clerics who don't make geopolitical decisions. They make decisions on the basis of theology, their view of theology which is an apocalyptic one.β
Again, the lack of self awareness is astonishing. THEY TOO make political decisions based on their theology.
Nice one here from Rubio because it's 1) not how it works and 2) going to be used for decades to confirm antisemitic conspiracy theories by the worst people in the world, and also 3) looks like Netanyahu apologia to point this out
Always the case I'm afraid.
I'm enjoying this and especially Ben Vereen but (as usual) it is filled with the sort of historical errors any consultant could (and probably did) point out and that could have been avoided without hurting the drama. Why film and tv insist on avoidable mistakes is one of life's great mysteries.
I'm not. People respond to populism. Despite the fact that populism is inherently reactionary and always the wrong bet. But if people voted sensibly Trump wouldn't be in the WH and Susan Collins wouldn't be in the Senate.

@NRSC "Someone who tells you exactly what he thinks" What Graham Platner thinks: - Got a Nazi tattoo - Called himself a communist - Said Black people don't tip - Called all police "bastards" - Said rape victims should "not get so f**ked up"
The Two Towers: "This is but a taste of what awaits you" meme
Bravo, leftists. Pure genius move.
And unlike most of the GOP's bullshit, all of these claims are both accurate and in context.
This is but a taste of what awaits EVERY Democratic candidate this fall.
It might cost us the seat in Maine (or just as likely we win but he turns into Fetterman in office) but the situation for the GOP is so dire that at least in the House (the Senate was always a long-shot) I see no way for them to pull it out no matter how many mistakes our "populists" make.

I actually wonder if most Americans even really care about Iran that much anymore if Iran isn't actively assailing us. 46 getting on 47 years is a long time; I was 15 when the embassy was taken over.
I should add Israel has the perfect right to attack Iran whenever it likes as the regime has been in a state of war with Israel since it came into being. It just prefers to use Arabs instead of Iranians. Of course having a right to do something doesn't make it wise. And the US had other options.

I was 20.
If Iran had aimed all the firepower at one target they probably could have done some serious damage but by attacking everywhere they made it possible to shoot down most of their weapons. Stupidity (and evil) not confined to one side in this conflict.

And that is a character flaw in them because they are more interested in being proven right than in fighting back. You don't know the future until it is the past and until then you are always obligated in the struggle against evil to give it your best shot.

As an insider and a natural pessimist I'm in the unusual position of thinking that we will have elections (mostly-a few very red states perhaps aside) and Dems will take back the House and possibly the Senate. Now if Trump had been smart enough to leave Biden's economy alone I think we'd be fucked.
We really should be thankful that Iran appears to have no ballistic missiles capable of sufficient distance to strike Ukraine, as given what's been going on the last couple of days, they'd fire some at Kyiv the way they appear to have been lashing out at everyone else.
Also; this has been noted elsewhere, but it's paradoxically hilarious that Ukraine is now being approached by nations being shellacked by Shaheds for help and advice in how to intercept them.
We really need to have some sort of come to Jesus moment on this website about Schumer and Jeffries, because their actual existing record is wildly out of step with the Bluesky perception of them.
Part of it is a lack of understanding of their jobs. They aren't the leaders of the Democrats. With no Dem WH incumbent or near-certain nominee the party is nationally leaderless; a flaw perhaps but built-in. They are constrained by broad coalitions of members of Congress with different electorates.

The thing about "tea parties" as we generally discuss the term is that you're bringing in outsiders and outsiders are often outside for good reasons.
Because the SecDef is an incel.
I don't think even Trump or Bibi are stupid enough to attempt a land invasion of Iran. My guess is at some point they'll declare victory whether there is a victory or not. The real question is what happens down the road if there is another 9/11 (here or Israel) as a result.
This is true but ignores that Iran has something to do with this too. It isn't excusing Trump or Bibi to note that most of these countries were attacked by Iran. Sometimes in a conflict both deserve to lose.
