So porn, cats, and politics? Yeah, the Internet hasn't changed much ... Glad to see books are on that list though!

Oof, for real.
Excellent use of the word crapola 😂
Was talking with a friend this morning about the chronic fatigue we've been having. Is it depression? Hormones? Physical health? Stress? Diet? The general state of the world? Simply lack of sleep?
Who knows. Thinking about it makes me tired. 😴
I have a red thumb. I would love to do gardening, but whenever I do, I seem to kill whatever I plant. 😜😭
So do you all do this?? What are your modes, and what do you do them for?? 🤔🤔🤔 (4/4)
- Writing mode: Settling in. Reclined, feet up, but best at a desk. Candle lit, music playing, snacks on hand. Locked in for hours of work, usually late at night.
- Reading mode: Ultimate comfort. Feet up, reclined, with a blanket, maybe even in bed with a cat on my lap. (3/4)
- Day mode: This is work on my phone, like socials, emails, etc. Things I can do on the go without much brain work. You wouldn't even know I'm working.
- Admin mode: Optimum ergonomics. Super professional. At my desk, maybe standing, straight posture. This is for, like, spreadsheets. (2/4)
Okay, in shopping for desks and chairs, I've learned something about myself that I'm curious about. I have modes of comfort in my productivity, and they require various forms of comfort. I wanna know if anyone else thinks this way. Lemme explain ... (1/4)
I'll be leading a workshop for MTSU Write's Spring Saturday series! April 11, 1-3 PM: "Musings of a Logolept: A Guide to Multilingual, Multigenre, and Multidisciplinary Writing."
It's free and open to the public, and if there's enough of an interest, I can make it available on Zoom! Let me know!
Here's a little reminder that if you're having trouble getting motivated to work on a project, there's a pretty lively group of Writing and Reading streamers on Twitch, so there are usually opportunities for sprints, co-working streams, and body doubling.

Got a new desk this week, and I'm really enjoying it! A 55 inch U-shaped standing desk with a keyboard tray, monitor shelf, and two storage drawers. Best of all? I paid for it with writing royalties 🥰
Sometimes signings are like that. I know it can feel disheartening, but keep doing the thing! 💕
If you're local to #middletennessee and you're looking for bookish things to do in February once this snow and ice moves out, I gotchu. Read up on it all here!

SUPER excited to share this one!! LaDS has been a great part of my year, and here are just some of my reasons why! Take a read why LaDS is not just a fun game for women but a cultural milestone. #loveanddeepspace #lads #china #infold #otome #girlgamer
My paltry backyard here in Tennessee, with a wooden privacy fence, rocked-off flower beds, a smoking fire pit, a discarded basketball goal, and towering trees. Fat snow flakes fall from the sky, and the ground has a dusting of snow. Snow is one of the main ways you can see my girls' personality differences: my six-year-old woke up at 6 AM, went straight to the window, and bundled up both her and my other daughter for playing in the snow that was just beginning to fall. That two-year-old, on the other hand, came to me crying after they came back inside, and I asked her what was wrong, she said, "I played in the snow." I held back a laugh and asked her if she had fun, and she whimpered and said, "Yeah." Now she is under two blankets and nursing a sippy cup of hot (read: lukewarm) chocolate, while my six-year-old is already getting ready to scoop up some snow cream and make a snowman with the neighbor across the street. If you're affected by this snowstorm too, whether you're like my six-year-old or two-year-old, I hope you have a warm, safe, fun weekend.
And so it begins ... #snowstorm2026
Just sent something! Thanks for the opportunity!

I totally forgot to be the tooth fairy last night. 🤦♀️ Can we stop with these holiday traditions that happen overnight because my tired brain can't handle it ...
This month's blog is up for the Rutherford Arts Alliance! Check out all the things happening this month in the area! www.rutherfordartsalliance.org/news/2025/12...
Though it's not necessarily one to celebrate, my poem "911 Watch" about pregnancy loss and depression/suicide ideation is out now in Issue 2 of @harrowhousejournal alongside some powerful poems about a range of grief and trauma. harrowhousejournal.wixsite.com/harrowhousej...

A view from my mother's loft, complete with a view of the winter woods, our live cedar Christmas tree, and lit up garlands lining the banister. Mom writes books on Egyptology, so her desk has some Egyptian decor, some history books, and the cutest crow lamp because she loves to feed the crows in the woods! My setup has Christmas cookies, coffee in a snowman mug, and my trusty regulars like my laptop, mousepad and wireless mouse, water bottle and planner. And if you've read this far, here's a little secret: I'm working on my next commissioned article for Renew.org, which is all about what the Bible says about peace. Spoiler alert: it's A LOT. I've got a concordance open in this picture with over 400 entries using words that have been translated in English to "peace." The editor wants this to be 1500-2500 words. Oof! Anyway, hope you and yours are having a similarly peaceful holiday season!
Writing on location this weekend at my parents' cabin! #amwriting #research #logcabin #woods #forest #christmas #newyear #holiday
Just sent a linguistics pitch! Woo!
I just haven't had much growth in the past two years, and there's a lot more political stuff in my feed than I'd like. I'm having trouble finding bookish people to engage with. Feels more like a chore than anything fun.
Welp you talked me into it 😂
And I saw this and just submitted a pitch! Thank you both!
Genuinely thinking of deleting my account here ... Convince me to stay?
Just sent a pitch! Thanks!
Every time I go to the Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, I visit the grave of Mary Noailles Murfree, the first published female writer in Tennessee. She received a Daughters of the Republic plaque, but it often goes unnoticed. I say hi to her, clean her plaque, and remember her legacy. ♥️
