lrp re: japanese labor laws and japanese game dev. for the past 5 or so years, AAA japanese developers have been raising starting salary for university students and new employees iirc. (been awhile since i read any reports, etc.) which has encouraged new talent in a competitive market.

I do feel like indie game devs should do more launch parties, seems healthier then sitting at your desk and staring at the steam dev dashboard

Anyone have that ONE “lost game mechanic” that they wish would come back to a modern game?
For me it’s the battle system from Lost Kingdoms 2, it was very Yugioh esque with the cards, but with real-time battles, and I’ve still yet to find a game similar. Maybe Fromsoft will go back to the series 🥹
