Kate Moss’s appearance at Gucci in the thong dress says a lot about the state of body positivity. Even when someone is celebrated for how they look and conforms to the skinny beauty standard, people are still so repulsed by the very normal experience of fabric pressing into skin and creating rolls
Looking forward to this!
Thank you to the people of Gorton and Denton for giving us all a bit more hope 🙏
A really interesting point! You’re totally right about the sexism from others in social media work but also we internalise it i.e. I’m not hot enough/cool enough to do it
Please appreciate the cuteness of my new phone case and allow me to be smug in letting you know that the old one is going in the compost bin, just like this one will when it’s had its time
Being a 36-year-old fashion journalist is going to precisely one London Fashion Week show and then declaring you can’t stay for cocktails because you have places to be and that place is at home with your husband and a bottle of wine in front of the Olympics
I randomly went to an event Sarah Ferguson was at last year. She was wearing embroidered ballet bumps where one said “never complain”, the other “never explain”. If she’s strapped for cash I recommend putting those on Vinted.
Fashion week designers: I’m just not sure I can hold a fashion show at a time when the world is on fire.
Meanwhile, The King…
No! 😂
I’ve been interviewing some activists for a project and the biggest surprise has been that thank you notes have come up twice now. 1) Thanking activists who all turned up to a community picnic 2) Thanking CEOs for changing policies after campaigns. Turns out they’re very powerful. Who knew?!
It’s really sad to me that she wanted to make fashion more diverse but she seems so hurt by her own experiences in the industry that it just becomes a way of her treating others the same to show the world what she went through rather than fixing it
I binged all of the #ANTM documentary. Little is surprising or new if you’ve seen the show but it’s a fascinating insight into what happens when two really toxic worlds (modelling and reality tv) combine. There’s little redemption for Tyra but…
People also always rag on Dawson’s Creek for the dialogue as well and rewatching it during the pandemic I realised its genius is that the characters talk how teenagers think they sound
Hilarious fashion faux pas
I’m speaking on a panel at this event during London Fashion Week aimed at supporting students and early-stage professionals with their fashion careers but also open to those who want to support the showcasing talent and meet the next generation of talent. See you there! fienta.com/emerge?utm_s...

Oh spare us! 🙈😂
Interesting read! I have sympathy for museums. Getting funding and getting visitors has to be a priority but it does feel like we’re missing out on exhibitions that could be a lot more interesting. I wonder how the curators feel.
I adore the V&A, its exhibitions are world class. I am becoming a bit concerned with how most of its fashion exhibitions these days are tied in to brand deals... and yet I still squeeled with delight at the announcement of Schiaparelli because she's one of my all time faves!
This feels very… media in 2013 but make people pay for it this time
I’m late to the party on this one but the Mag Hags podcast is funny, insightful, nostalgic brilliance for anyone who has ever devoured a women’s magazine podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/m...
Good god I’ve never wanted anything more
Can we talk about how when women cry at the round table they’re “traitors” and when men cry it “proves” they’re faithful? 😏 #thetraitors
There is no doubt in my mind that fashion needs to divest from plastics for many reasons but I have become concerned by increasing fear mongering around health in sustainable fashion. Research is ongoing and hotly debated and until we have more conclusive evidence, we should talk about it cautiously
This is precisely why we must listen to and support neurodivergent designers and makers. They’re going to save us all.
I knew millennials were officially old when a couple of years I go threw my neck out hoicking on a pair of skinny jeans (yes, I still own skinny jeans. They’ll come back around sooner or later.)
Ooooh snazzy
A sign that reads “sending immense love during a time of almost impossibility”
A neon chest binder and scaled cap by Rebirth Garments on a mannequin
A museum sign titled “label for missing objects” celebrating items not in the exhibition about design and disability and the things people have done in order to make the world work for them.
…and the V&A didn’t disappoint!
