I woke up for the second day with a low-grade fever. Did a test for covid/influenzaA/influenzaB. Negative. Cool - I didn’t bring those to my elderly parents these last few days.
I see my adult kids & they live in public spaces so I get everything.
Glad this is probably just another cold.
I spent my whole life very invested in studying the Bible, & honestly, that is what has led me to what I now believe about salvation, culture, etc.
I believe they are less invested in being shaped by their faith & more invested in finding security in a faith community that brainwashes them.
Ugh.
My parents, siblings, & 1 evangelical son&DIL did not reject me.
We argue theology, & they think I am wrong.
We do not argue politics.
I believe the underlying assumption that is in error with them is that God is invested in their ideas about marriage&sex&genderRoles.
They equate salvation w it.
That is a great book!
I grew up Evangelical. Went to the same prominent evangelical college as Russell Vought.
I was rejected by evangelicals around 2010 for siding with the ordination of lgbtqa folk & with church marriages in the pcusa.
I have a son who is a graduate of Bethlehem Seminary here
My current dive into “I don’t understand any religion well outside mainstream Catholicism” includes this show.
I really struggle with understanding evangelicalism, and getting it out of my head that hypocrisy is a critique that matters (or that is actually accurate within the belief system).
They could, and I think they should, but he’s a sitting senator and I don’t think they will.

My parents & siblings & me, 15 years ago. I am in the brown sweater. I was not yet 50. I do not look like this now. But I am still shocked by that fact.
Our 5th son, my husband, & me: This is what I look like if I have my makeup on. (Even tho this was my son’s wedding, I opted for my normal daily makeup.)
My 6th son & his fiancée & my dad & me: This is me without my makeup.
I love seeing pictures of friends here who I have not yet run into in Saint Paul Minneapolis. I think I’d recognize you!
With me it is a bit complicated because I look quite different in makeup or not.
Also, the camera does not see who I still imagine it will see!
I am with my dad at his house; so I watched FoxNews as she ended her speech & went to questions. None of the questions addressed this.
But FoxNews reports she was notified prior to her speech, continues in her current roll to March 31, and has accepted her new roll.
