Being able to ride my bike down Sligo Creek Pkwy to the Manchester Rd or Piney Branch station is going to be such a game-changer.

The driver of the Toyota Camry, who was killed in a 3-car crash on Ridge Rd/27 north of Sweepstakes Rd on Mon 2/2/26 10:29 pm, had just turned 19 last month. These are the traffic citations for him, in Maryland Judiciary Case Search, today.

9/ ECTC fought a nationwide federal program representing corporate interests with very deep pockets, at a time when DC didn't even have home rule. And they won!

Of 38 miles of planned highway intended to be built in DC proper (through existing communities), only 10 were constructed.

7/ To environmentalists they talked about pollution. They "occupied" seized homes and refilled them with furniture and people. They distributed some pretty radical pamphlets on racial justice. And they even rewrote the lyrics to Christmas carols & patriotic songs as critique of the highway lobby.

5/ ..the hwy back to Wisconsin Ave.... but as organizers worked together across the whole city, their strategy changed. They realized each new inch of highway increased the pressure to build the rest of it (that "highway ending onto a city block" problem) and they came up with this new slogan.
