Before Pearl Harbor, polls in America were running at around 50% for/against Hitler and Germany. Congress passed laws preventing the US from aiding the Allies, and the 'Lend Lease' program was an end run around that restriction. I would suggest that America hasn't really changed much...

Two things:
1. He has galvanized his 20 to 30% base in America to harden their belief that they can do no wrong.
2. He has made clear the identities of our co-workers, friends and neighbors who support Authoritarianism over America.
How we cope with that when we get through this will define us.

We should have met this invading Federal army with the full force of our National Guard. Every ICE agent should be taken into custody, and charged with impersonating law enforcement. This is a use of military force against American citizens and clearly illegal.
