Perform empathy. Please. Perform the fuck out of it. It's so good to act with kindness. I hope it penetrates to a place where you feel it, too, but if you must act some way, act the right way. I'm not here to judge your authenticity, I just want you to be kind, thoughtful, and mortified by meanness.
My characters Gris, Perl, Kara and Boss, in christmas outfits, walking from right to left
Happy holidays!
For this #FollowFriday I made a Starter Pack of OC and TTRPG focused artists that are below 1000 followers.
I strongly recommend checking out these artists, they are very skilled and underrated.

A comic page with three panels. The first panel shows a pair of legs in black boots and jean shorts walking towards a round figure in the background. The girl walking says "Hey dad, I'm back." The second panel shows the round, dark figure in the background stand up to reveal itself to be a massive winged creature with moth antennae, the artist's interpretation of Mothman. The figure who was walking in the first panel is revealed to be a furry dog girl with pink hair and glasses, as well as a pink flannel, a spiked writs bracer and a spiked collar. She stands at about a tenth of the size of Mothman. She says, "Sorry it's been a minute. Weird fucking year." In panel three, we get a close up of her. She holds a duffel back behind her back and looks off to the side. She says, "I meant to call."
A comic page with two panels. In the first panel, the dog girl sits on her duffel bag as Moth man begins to envelop her in his wings. She says, "I just wanted there to be good news, I guess." In panel two, Mothman's wings begin to glow a ghostly green as green fog envelops the dog girl. He says, "You are here. This is not good news?"
A comic page with three panels. In the first panel, the dog girl shrugs and says, "I guess?" In the second panel, we see her from above as she leans over herself, her figure becoming smaller as it hunches over. She says, "Feels like all I did this year was survive." In the third panel, a now brightly glowing Mothman looks down at the dog girl and says, "That is not good news?"
A comic with three panels. In the first panel, the dog girl sits on her duffel bagm holding her body with both arms and looking off to the side. "You know what I mean," she says. In panel two, we get a close-up of Moth man's eyes, and we see the dog girl's reflection in them. He says, "I do." In the third panel, we see a ghostly green trail of energy that flows forward towards the camera, with several ghostly green images of the dog girl placed along the trail. They all look sad, in pain, or timid. Surrounding them are several words in various shades of green. They read, "Fear, self-doubt, depression, transphobia, chronic pain, loss, poverty."

"Do you see the man on the screen
Just a puppet but you never see the strings
Calling it a war n not a genocide
Telling us it isn't what it seems
Man that's a different kind of greed"

Doodle on paper done with a pen of a little goblin with three scars across her face, staring intensely at the viewer with no discernable mouth or nose to add to the intensity and comic. She's pointing at the viewer as well. The words "Reminder: Unclench your jaw now" are written beside her

A photograph of a sketchbook open to an ink sketch of a Virginia opossum (the only North American marsupial!) in profile, face left, tail right, carrying seven joeys (baby opossums) on her back. She is walking on a log or tree branch. The joeys are faced towards the viewer. Five of the joeys have their mouths open, singing, the one nearest the mother’s head is leaning on one front paw, smiling, and the one nearest the tail is falling backwards off the back of the mother, back paws in the air, left arm flung out, mouth open, tail stuck out over the mother’s back. The joeys are singing: “Seven baby opossums on Mom, seven baby opossums…” “WAUUUGH!!” “Fred fell off, will Mom stop?” *pause* “…No.” “SIX OPOSSUM BABIES ON MOM, SIX OPOSSUM BABIES…” (Fred is fine; he’s off to audition for ‘Pippin’.)
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of an opossum standing with their head turned up and to the right, their body pointing left. They are on a stage; the music for “Pippin” has just started. It is Fred! (This is a very long run-on joke from the sketch of the baby opossums singing on their mom’s back; Fred was on the very end, and fell off, running away to Broadway, to pursue his singing career.) The opossum is brown-grey with black legs and ears, and a pink tail, nose, and toes. The stage floor is brown, the curtains are blue-black. Fred’s face is highlighted by a spotlight, his eye is shining, and there is a small smile on his face. (Fred is not on Broadway. Fred has found his way into a dinner theater: “all you can eat buffet, and Pippin!”. The actors do not know he is there yet.)
An ink pen cartoon of a dinner theater with people running out of it, screaming. A person front right in the image is screaming “OH MY GOD, THERE’S A POSSUM INSIDE!!”. The theater is a reference to the scene outside the movie theater in The Blob (1958). The top sign says “SINGER THEATER”, and underneath is a flap that says “dinner theater” on the left, and “all you can eat buffet” on the right. Below that, in the center is an open door marked “entrance”, and cartoon people are running out of the door. More people are inside. A dog is sitting far left, looking confused as a boy runs by him, his mother right behind. A man is running straight out, behind him is a teenager with her hands to her mouth. Right of that is the man screaming about the opossum, he is visible from the waist up, with a round head, his arms and hands up by his face. Behind him to the right is a person in tee shirt and jeans, running with their hands out in front of them. There are signs on the wall of the theater; right of the door, is a big sign that says “dinner and a show!”. On the left are two posters; one for the musical Pippin, that has curtains opening on a big apple silhouette (joke within joke!), and to the left of that poster, a partial poster of an opossum singing, that says “FRED!”. Fred thinks he’s a smash hit! …I’m not sure what the Health Department thinks.
An ink, marker, and paint pen drawing of an opossum baby (a joey) named Fred, hanging by his tail from a piece of branch (after falling off mom). He has his mouth open, smiling, giving a thumbs up with his left forepaw, and a “rock on!” with his right hind paw (Bob says opossums are all hands, and he’s not entirely wrong!). His head is pointing right, with the top of his head and his eyes pointed at the viewer. Fred is on his way, singing songs, looking for his Corner of the Sky!
I have opossums! Meet Fred! 😀💜

A sneak preview of a page from Nyaegling by Bex Ollerton and Richard Bass. The snippet features a red-haired catgirl wearing a red cape fighting with an armored wolf. In the first panel, the catgirl leaps upwards. In the second panel, she makes contact with the wolf woman, who also makes contact with her, and in the final panel, both characters fall to the ground as the impact of their clash begins to affect them.
A sneak preview of a page from Nyaegling by Bex Ollerton and Richard Bass. A red-haired catgirl has her cloak's hood pulled up to hide her appearance. In the first panel, it is a longshot of her climbing out of a window. In the second panel, she grips an ornate sword. In the final panel, we get a close-up of the character who looks pained.
A sneak preview of a page from Nyaegling by Bex Ollerton and Richard Bass. In the first panel, the protagonist, a red haired catgirl is surprised by three armed dogs busting through the door behind her. They say, "stop right there!" In the second panel, a mouse ally says "tabitha, look out!" while preparing to throw a kind of crystal in her direction. In the final panel, the protagonist dodges out of the way as an explosion booms in front of her.
