full season. not film season. anyways, i hate phd’s glorifying farm work. we didn’t have advanced degrees available to even the lowest classes of citizens when most of us were engaged in farming.

i worked for a film season on a friendly, bucolic organic farm. it was nice in some ways but i made less than minimum wage and fucked up my back. best case scenario you’re broke and injured. there’s nothing “deeply human” about harvesting fruits and vegetables at an industrial scale.
if someone drives over the cascades to visit family, i assume they’re staying in oregon or washington and not driving another 2000+ miles east to the more populated part of the country.
it’s not about getting through the mountains (there are interstate freeways and rail lines do that already) it’s more about how few people live east of the mountains, and we have trouble building rail between cities, let alone cities and pretty empty semi desert.
get an outline of your home state or a family crest like a normal young person if you wanna show pride in your “heritage”
the most generous interpretation is that he was young and dumb and then also still had years and years to get the nazi tattoo covered up, a very easy process, but that he didn’t feel was important to do.
at long last, we have created the parallax corporation, from the 1974 film the parallax view
they’re also overworked and underfunded. their pay might be fair if they didn’t have to work long hours, have no time to prep, and buy their own supplies. hire more support staff and give them a stipend for classroom supplies.
is that limestone cladding as well? very nice, deep cut biomaterial.
maybe the films were too subtle with the good v evil theme. saruman especially was a very sympathetic character.
like naming your company Palantir. i guess it sounds cool when you think you’re the only one who gets to use its powers. but a literal demigod couldn’t win against a coalition of free people and most importantly, some tiny farmers. i don’t know how they think they’re built different.
In a nutshell, the Dem lodestar should be: "ICE is bad, and immigration is good"
notably, the dishwashers who were white and/or born in america had drug issues and couldn’t keep up with the dishes for shit.
with the caveat that immigrants belong here regardless, the one immigrant from cameroon i worked with at a restaurant was the sweetest and most hardworking dude there. i thought he was a recent arrival due to his thick accent but at that point he had been in america as long as i had.
as much as he sucks, he is far better than his opponent (dr oz) would have been.
the dem side. we got two years to find someone who doesn’t suck instead of settling for gavin.
i’m a californian and you’re right to feel this way, also good to remember that most of the country feels this way.
OPINION: "The outrageous lies of Trump regime, from ICE shootings to a Commerce Secretary's Epstein falsehoods, must be punished ... America desperately needs truth and consequences." — Inquirer columnist Will Bunch
that might be a reason to quarantine the concentration camp but not halt only air travel to the entire metro area. ports of entry are open, interstates are open.
idk my vacuum sealed thermos keeps drinks pretty cool
true, but it is possible for speed assistance to not involve actual surveillance of the car. the car doesn’t need to broadcast its position and identity for the system to work.
also we already have government surveillance of your movement in phones with or without a car.
i don’t think i get your point. any individual fix (speed limiters, red light cameras, traffic calming infrastructure, police enforcement) are only going to help in a small % of cases. it’s a “yes, and” situation, not one where there’s a silver bullet.
do you think people don’t speed in intersections, which are also a great place for enforcement?
this is true of cured meats as well but plenty of people live long and healthy lives while enjoying alcohol in moderation.
aerial photo of a retention pond
here’s an example: this pond in north austin is not in a flood zone but handles runoff from several city blocks nearby before it joins the storm sewers. same idea. keeps walnut creek from flooding neighborhoods downstream.
i have helped design detention basins like this, they are used to slow runoff so they don’t make flooding worse downstream. this one likely collects runoff from all the buildings and hardscape to one point where it can then be piped off-site.
that’s exactly what it is. even concentration camps need to handle drainage when they’re built in a desert that gets monsoons. they’re used everywhere, not just flood zones.
i didn’t find it insulting at all really. i didn’t take it personally. if you took a reminder to not be racist or sexually harass people at work personally that’s on you man.
this and using the phrase “make america —— again” grinds my gears too. i know it was an effective campaign slogan. it’s also reactionary and you should come up with something that doesn’t reference the return of american fascism.
