CORYYYYYYY RAHHHHH π₯
Aww darn! I wish we had seen you this year! So glad you randomly sat at our table! Itβs been awesome getting to know you! Are you gong to summit next year?
Thank you Chris! That truly means so much!
Bullish on myself as a top tier storm photographer πͺοΈ
I started this journey in 2021 and evolved from someone who simply documented severe weather into a photographer who composes compelling, fine art images that evoke emotion and tell a story.
Ready for whatβs next in 2025. π€π»
Upward lightning in Electra, TX on 4.27.24. @timbacawx.bsky.social and I waited 2 hours for this scene to finally unfold! β‘οΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈ
Our survey team has found EF-4 damage around the Diaz area (Jackson Co.). Based on the considerable damage observed, peak winds were estimated at 190 mph. More details on this storm with be forthcoming. This is the first rated EF-4 tornado to occur in the Little Rock NWS warning area since, the Mayflower-Vilonia tornado, that occurred on April 27, 2014. The last EF-4 tornado recorded in Arkansas was on December 10, 2021 in Bay AR (Craighead County.
Per NWS Little Rock, one of Friday night's tornadoes near Diaz, Arkansas, was a high-end EF-4.
Thank you. So sick of these entitled chasers complaining because a legit tornado outbreak wasnβt *worse.*
βIt was a bustβ
Nope. Multiple significant tors and fatalities occurred with at least 37 tornado reports so far.
Just because you didnβt get your disaster porn in a heavily populated area doesnβt mean the forecast was a bust. Some of yβall need therapy.
Intense wording from the SPC about todayβs potential tornado outbreak across MS and AL. #wxsky

Not to discount the severe weather threat on Friday, but multiple high-res models are depicting supercells in a very favorable environment for tornadoes across portions of the South on Saturday as early as late Saturday morning
Lack of staff is leading to the loss of even more balloon observations. I look at hundreds of these data points daily for my job. Both observed & model derived. These balloon observations can be critical in accurate severe thunderstorm forecasts & watch issuance. They improve model accuracy as well.

No had to drive myself since my husband is out of town π₯Ή thank you
That is barbaric. Iβm so sorry this happened to you.
βItβs just a little pressure,β they say as the provider ripped out pieces of my cervix and uterus last year during a colposcopy and uterine biopsy. π€¬
I keep pressing and she finally performs a cervical block.
Ladies, never stop advocating for yourself.
Also, itβs criminal that women are expected to βtough outβ procedures like this with zero pain management.
At the OB/GYN getting my IUD replaced today (because who knows if theyβll still be legal soon). I ask what my pain management option are. My provider says, βWell the standard is none and your insurance likely wonβt cover it.β
Iβm not having it this time around.
A timely read
"America does not need a 'resistance,' or stale slogans, or people putting those slogans on little paddles. It needs an opposition party that boldly defends the nationβs virtues, the rule of law, and the rights of its people," writes @radiofreetom.bsky.social:
Tornadoes are apolitical. They don't care if you're a Republican or Democrat. They will kill you regardless of what you think about the weather. Everyone should be calling their elected officials to protest the unjust cuts to NOAA and the NWS. Lives depend on it.
Privatizing weather looks like model data, forecasts and tornado warnings behind paywalls. It will result in more missed warnings on hectic days. Rural areas risk being left behind entirely when forecasters are forced to triage coverage or cover urban areas with more customers.
Last night, two critical Texas radars at the southern end of the threat were down.
We all know Trump and Project 2025's endgame is to privatize weather. if this comes to fruition, we can expect more radar outages and downtime during higher risk days.
QLCS tornado events like last night are notoriously difficult to warn. These tornadoes spin up quickly, birthed by embedded supercells in a fast moving linear system. It requires increased manpower to monitor these events and keep communities safe.
Last night a damaging tornado in Lewisville, TX went unwarned. This will likely be our reality moving forward as DOGE/Trump continue to slash NOAA & the NWS. NWS offices have been understaffed and underfunded for decades with many mets pulling double shifts during tornado outbreaks.
Iβm an American with #Trudeau.
There is no level of dumb this man cannot reach.
Youβre one of the best!
@michaelseger.bsky.social is the Chief Met for a station in Tulsa!
@cameronjnixon.bsky.social is also OK based!
And @nws.noaa.gov is here, too!
