Design Council 35mm slide showing three suitcases by S.E.Norris & Co.
Just got my copy of this π₯° As an ex Art & Design slide librarian, this little book is a joy & a gem. The collection I managed included many Design Council slide packs, & when digital took over & it was disposed of, I kept some slides β₯οΈ the-modernist.org/products/pro... @themodernist.bsky.social

Interior of Holy Trinity Church, Freston Rd., London W12
No, it was designed like this. Originally built as Holy Trinity Church in 1887-9 by the architect R. Norman Shaw, the church has identical traceried windows at either end. Photo of the interior and one of the windows dated 1889 (The Architect, 25th Oct 1889). Itβs now a Grade II listed building.
No, still in use. But does get closed for maintenance or if thereβs a traffic incident.
Always enjoy driving through it, it has a delightful curve and then you swoop up onto Kingsway
Iβm mourning the loss of the Swiss style clock π©

B/w photo of industrial silos with strong light and shadow
B/w photo of a building in an industrial estate car park, with traffic cones
Carlton Industrial Estate, Saxmundham. Shout out to the two Frimpeks Ltd. employees who came to check I wasnβt engaged in industrial espionage π they were very nice and explained the silos were very old - 35 years - which I guess is practically antique in industry terms.
The photograph. If you check the BM website youβll see non-commercial reuse of their images (as in this case) is permitted if credited to the BM.
If you read the article youβll see a replica was given to Charles.

HEY!
I'm trying to raise money to send as many books as I can to a new Mobile Library being set up to support homeless people.
It's being organised by Cee, founder of London based charity "PINT Giving".
I'm donating Β£100, but if you can help too, i'd be really grateful.

So so depressing.
Serious levels of disapproval
This is my childhood! It could only be bettered if it included one of those x-ray machines that dangerously & bizarrely claimed to aid the process of getting perfectly fitting shoes.
