new haven to grand central, off-peak on weekdays, 2 off-peak one-way tickets is $38.50 while the day pass is $46.75. saturdays and sundays though, the day pass is cheaper. fun!

also, it's pricing is funky: 10% less than 2 peak tickets on weekdays and 10% less than 2 off-peak tickets on weekends. but! 10% off 2 peak tickets may be more than 2 one-way off-peak tickets so that may be cheaper on weekdays. you gotta do the math.

oh yeah, metro north changed things up. no more round trip tickets. it's sorta kinda replaced by the new day pass which gives you unlimited daily rides (but really not many ride the railroad more than twice in a day) but! it expires at the end of the day so not useful for weekend trips, etc.

they're already hitting boats in the east pacific so it's just a matter of time before they "discover" those islands, if they haven't already...

even odds on that from kalshi, i'm sure!
