I think this is a key point we need to keep repeating - our council is spending extraordinary amounts of time to constantly relitigate an expense that's less than 0.05% of the capital budget. That is not time well spent by any measure.

According to the city's cost model, D15 comes in with a net shortfall of $15.6 million per year for residential properties ($1250 per household).

Collectively, the peninsula districts generate a $61m surplus on residential properties (nearly $100m with commercial).

Imagine if the other councillors worked as hard as Austin.

The suburban councillors live here and can't think about municipal finance in any other terms.

I’m a life long Bedford resident who has worked on the peninsula on and off. I’ve looked forward to it for years, but we’ll never see it. We don’t even own the land. I’m for anything we can do to get cars off the road in Bedford, and not sure the ferry would ever be it

It’s still crazy to me that they reduced the speed on the Bedford Highway but didn’t narrow the lanes when they repaved. There’s still no bike lane from Kearney Lake to the Exchange
