I am proud that @libdems.org.uk introduced premium funding to ensure disadvantaged children - wherever they live - get more support at school. Ministers are proposing to "rebalance" funding and need to come clean as to who will lose out, and guarantee cash will always follow the child.

It’s #braintumourawarenessmonth. This week I spoke to Brain Tumour Research in Parliament about improving outcomes for everyone living with brain cancer and widening access to vital treatments.

Happy #WorldBookDay to all the children and their parents who have endured the trauma of last minute costume making. Whilst the stress isn't fun, reading certainly is. Don't forget to use your book token to discover something new!

Parents and carers are concerned that reforms to the special educational needs system could strip their children of important rights. Change is desperately needed, but we must avoid trapping families in an endless doom-loop of disputes.

Great to join members of the community, councillors, the Mayor of Richmond & Chair Douglas Chisholm to celebrate the new home of Teddington’s Elleray Centre. A wonderful, sustainable, accessible community space for everyone to enjoy!

Yesterday, I and Sarah Olney met the Aviation Minister to press our concerns about Heathrow expansion. It's clear the Government is struggling to put any sort of credible case together. They need to listen to the evidence, and put a stop to their plans before it’s too late!

I and the libdems.org.uk forced a vote today to bring forward urgent legislation to protect our children better online, including banning harmful social media - neither the Conservatives nor Labour voted for it.

We will keep fighting to make sure our children are safe online.

Today I will vote to protect our children from harmful social media platforms.

Our message to social media giants is clear: if your platform spreads harmful content or relies on addictive algorithms, it is not safe for children.

Twickenham continues to stand in solidarity with Ukraine. It is absolutely vital that, in the face of Putin and Trump, the UK stands firm with our European allies, united in our joint defence & in protecting sovereignty, democracy and freedom. Slava Ukraini

Four years ago, after russia invaded Ukraine, the people of Twickenham came together in support of Ukraine & Ukrainians – whether donating supplies & funds to Prosperity restaurant & the Mighty Convoy, opening their homes, or volunteering at the Vineyard’s Ukraine social hub.

Nice to meet Daniel, a Teddington resident on the Surrey Comet’s Young Reporter scheme. He interviewed me for an upcoming article & asked some great questions. Stay tuned for the article!

Now, finally, the Government is acting to crack down on the eye-watering bills from these companies bleeding councils dry at our children's expense. x.com/munirawilson...

Great to chat all things politics with St Mary's University journalism students in Twickenham. Topics included voting reform, the decline of the two-party system, coalitions, social media bans & children’s mental health. Thanks to Professor Minogue for inviting me back! I don't normally do Valentine's day, but I've made an exception for a good cause. I've signed The Dad Shift's Valentine's Day card to tell the Government that two weeks' paternity leave isn't enough.

Absolutely delighted that our stretch of the River Thames is being considered as one the first-ever designated bathing spots in London BUT also perplexed as to how Thames Water's sewage recycling proposals can possibly be compatible with this. My thoughts on LBC this morning πŸ‘‡πŸ½

It's time for the Government to admit what we've known all along - the maths simply doesn't add up for Heathrow expansion. The Chancellor has staked her credibility on economic growth on this project because her other policies are undermining growth.

Recent cases like Baby Gigi, Twickenham Green, Camden and Bristol have struck fear into every parent's heart. I called on the PM to act and mandate CCTV in every nursery, as well as creating a childcare workers’ register, so no parent worries about leaving their child in nursery.

The extension of the #ASGSF until March 2028 will come as a relief to many families and providers after months of uncertainty. However, many will still struggle to get the support they need as individual grants remain cut.
