Weird weekend, huh? Took a crack at breaking down the whole Clair Obscur genAI situation, and its bizarre fallout, as best as possible. My main takeaway right now is that people really need to figure out exactly what they're criticizing or it's going to get messy. www.polygon.com/clair-obscur...

Repping For Honor for the holidays in the office today ☃️
Shoutout to @mrpope.bsky.social who secured this for me back when I was a contract Community Rep for the game.
Geoff Keighley really is the perfect representative of the gaming industry:
-unreservedly self serving
-pretends to care about the people actually making the product
-loves to make performative gestures that ultimately go nowhere and help no one
-would almost certainly sell out to the saudis
So here's the thing...
I had to watch The Substance again to decide if I liked it because all I could think about walking out of the theater the first time was "What the hell did I just watch?"
I'm right there with you. Maybe my expectations just weren't in the right place for what the movie was, but I was very underwhelmed with it.
Guillermo del Toro refused to make ‘FRANKENSTEIN’ with too many green screens
“I want real sets. I don’t want digital. I don’t want AI. I don’t want simulation. I want old-fashioned craftsmanship. I want people painting, building, hammering, plastering”

Won my first round and lost the second. Perfectly fine, because it's a win that I took even one round 💪❤️
Been practicing latte art for just over two years now and today I'm entering myself into a local barista throwdown for the first time.
Wish me luck 🫡
I feel like I'm being gaslit by all the positive reviews of Weapons, but I just don't feel that the movie delivered at all.
Well made. Solid cast. Premise was great. It just didn't land though.
"I need ChatGPT to brainstorm" dear human person the whole point of brainstorming is to find new ways or angles when approaching a problem, the "let's regurgitate the complete stolen corpus of human achievement"-machine doesn't help you brainstorm - it stops you from brainstorming.
Jurassic World Rebirth had a cool concept for a film in there. You'd just have to cut out the half of the film with the A-List cast.
I see what they're trying to do here...but all three of these picks are not it.
this is MY steam summer sale
CEO compensation graphed next to employee compensation. 🙃
Thank you and I had the best day ♥️
I could only dream of such things, Chris 😔
I turned another year older yesterday, and I don't think anyone's ever going to top getting a theater to play a private viewing of my favorite movie for my birthday 😭
Have the absolute best birthday today my dude
Okay all caught up on pressers I think. Really excited about:
- End of Abyss
- Mudang Two Hearts
- Beast of Reincarnation
- Cronos The New Dawn
- Out of Words
- Mindseye
- Stranger than Heaven
- Resident Evil Requiem
Only just catching up on the weekend's conferences and holy shit I'm understanding the discourse around SGF and dev team sizes now.
Personally, I start playing it, have a great time with it, and resolve to come back to it the next day. Then the next day I have trouble getting myself to play for some reason.
One last ride with XDefiant 🥲
Infinitely thankful for all the opportunities I had working on this game and with its talented developers. Servers turn off tomorrow at 12PM ET and I'll be looking to play with the community for as long as I can today.
Steve Carell tells us about his fears of AI ahead of his new film ‘MOUNTAINHEAD’
“I like the human touch when it comes to creativity, I like the warts, the imperfections and if something’s perfect, it’s not real to me.”
Guess we gotta keep up the sentiment that GenAI sucks so that more companies start to feel it.
I would go as far as to say I'd bankrupt myself there, easily
