Emily Dickinson, Virginia Woolf, William Faulkner, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sylvia Plath, Kurt Vonnegut, Jane Austen, and Edgar Allan Poe... Guess what? They all loved an em dash, and not one of them was using chatbots. Em dashes don't mean AI use, GTFO with that dumb idea.

PAPERBACK OF WHILE I WAS GONE BY ANDREW CULL. A DOORWAY ATOP A LONE STAIRCASE STANDS IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIELD BORDERED BY TREES

πŸ’™πŸ“šπŸ©Έ WHILE I WAS GONE is @andrewcull.bsky.social's latest collection and these unsettling stories again showcase the scope of his imagination, his deft hand, and his unique voice for crafting cinematic, eerie, disconcerting tales across the spectrum of what the Horror genre can encompass. #MSReview

I'll get back to posting about books very soon, I promise. But, right now, I'm fuming about Isaac Herzog's visit to Australia. @albomp.bsky.social: What were you thinking? How on earth was this visit meant to bring unity or healing?

Albanese says Isaac Herzog’s visit will bring unity – but to many Palestinian Australians it’s a β€˜slap in the face’ The Israeli president’s visit, announced after the antisemitic attack in Bondi, has appalled those grieving loved ones killed in Gaza

If you have to ban protesting when you invite someone to visit, you're probably not going to be 'bringing unity' by inviting them.

The anthology I'm in is up for pre-order πŸ₯°

A story featuring correct spelling of the word "torsos," without an extra E.

Because who would do that? A person who while trying to turn off all AI functions, turned off spellcheck too? Leading to a mortifying editors note?

Not me. You can't prove it.

Holy sh*t, the amount of petitions I've signed in the past week: climate change, oil and gas lobbies, unlawful youth detention, tax the f*cking rich, war criminals visiting Australia. Come the f*ck on, politicians. We're not blind, and we're not stupid. You need to do better πŸ–€

Five Star review for SHITSHOW: Not sure why this book is so underhyped, because it’s an absolute blast. Fast, filthy, and ridiculously fun, this is pure 80s-style horror energy done right. It moves quick, hits hard, and never takes itself too seriously. I mean… who doesn’t want to follow creepy carnival mayhem into an alternate universe through a porta potty? That alone tells you the vibe. Sunday is a fantastic lead, Ms. Poppy is iconic, and the whole thing is soaked in dark humor, gross-out chaos, and that perfect blend of absurd and sinister.

There’s something genuinely stinky going on in Texas, and I loved every second of it. Weird, gross, and wildly entertaining, this was just a straight-up good time.

As y'all may remember, whenever I take a break, I love to leave a signed book in the place where we stayed.

This time, I left a copy of my recent collection, WHILE I WAS GONE. I'm not going to say exactly where I left the book...but if you're staying in Philip Island, you might find a surprise!
