oh wow, there is a very significant pattern there. After two rounds I was over 700/1000 and the third one was 965/1000.

Gladys also shifted to something else, though Iβm not sure what, because I couldnβt see; then we were through.
What can 40 years of song lyrics tell us about society?
I analysed the lyrics of 1,600 pop songs going back to 1985.
Our music appears to be getting gloomier, less future-looking and more self-obsessed

I' m fairly sceptical about most courses.
But this @piccalil.li stuff - especially "JavaScript for Everyone" by @wil.to - is the real deal.
It will improve your entire understanding of JS, not just framework-specifics. That kind of stuff pays off for years!
Get. It. Now.

#seo did I miss something, or why didn't the page indexing reports on all my GSC properties update since the 18th last week?
In case you missed it: a little reminder on how to build an accessible color palette, from scratch. We usually thing it's limiting, but, trust me, it's not that hard, and there are many many, many color option combinations possible.
Page speed issuesβ¦ on your siteβ¦ oh gosh, itβs doomed. Dooooomed! π
Iβm sorry.
Hm, if it does, would you mind setting it to initial opacity of 0.1 and check if it recovers?
Opinions are actually worse than assholes β most people only have one asshole.
I laughed so hard about this.
Mistakes are forgivable. Not learning from them isnβt.
To clarify: The Affinity apps are not supported on Linux by Serif. It's running pretty well on wayland (or xwayland) and I didn't have any crashes in Designer in this session. The settings are not stored, thought. I might have to change them in a text editor.
Oh, btw I got #AffinityDesigner, #AffinityPhoto and #AffinityPublisher running on Fedora and they are working fine. But I didn't do anything serious with them yet. If they run fine in the long run, I will definitely switch to a Linux machine.
Formatted the SSD of my ThinkPad again. Since I have the generous space of 1 TB, I partitioned it for swap, three OS partitions and a big data partition. Fedora will be my main OS, Pop!OS is there to try Cosmic and the third might be Gnome OS or Manjaro. Not sure yet.
Jes is phenomenal
This image is a sketchnote summarising key takeaways from the "State of the Browser" event on March 29, 2025, in London - Barbican. It includes insights from various speakers on topics such as color in CSS, mindful design for developers, web accessibility, and typography. The sketchnote features handwritten text, drawings of speakers, and visual elements highlighting key takeaways.
Wrapped up an incredible day at the #StateOfTheBrowser conference, organised by @londonwebstandards.org last weekend! Hereβs a sketchnote capturing key highlights from some of the talks that really resonated with me.

Hi @searchliaison.bsky.social , in the search console from a client of mine the "Not Found (404)" report went up in the last weeks from 16 to 43. Turns out the URLs weren't listed on their website / sitemaps and the referrers are all external. That's a bug, right?
This is true for all sorts of things but *especially* for CSS. You can save so much frustration and hassle if you take the time to understand the rules that govern layout!
Friends, I still get requests for #accessibility consultations. I'm not currently taking any consultation work, and I love to give recommendations for independent consultants when clients ask for them.
If you're an independent #a11y consultant, please reply below so I can add you to the list!
This is how David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear on live television in 1983. This was a *huge* event in my childhood and I am thrilled to finally learn how it was done. [youtube.com]
Ok, let's see how this goes β¦
