Petition e-7222 - Petitions
The current Canadian government is trying to fast track Bill C-9, "the Combatting Hate Act" through Parliament. This bill is an attempt to squash and silence people's legal right to protest and strike.
Please take a moment to sign this petition opposing C-9.

Furry artists, I don't care what you think about ABDL, incest kink, feral, etc. I have said it before and it remains true: If we don't hang together, we will all hang separately.

Spaces for kids have been destroyed or re-worked into stores, adult spaces aren't allowed to be actually "adult" lest we anger the CC companies, and supposedly neutral spaces are full of gambling/porn ads, disinformation, and right-wing pipelines. An internet that is increasingly not for anyone.

I'm so tired of having to defend porn made by consenting adults for consenting adults when our government is run by literal child predators that are hurting people everyday

Individual websites will not save us. Running from platform A to platform B will not work as payment processors and legislation will simply follow our trail
You have to speak out against censorship and surveillance legislation. Its the source of all of this.

photo of Alex Schaefer painting a bank across the street from him. It's a beautiful, bright, sunny day, and the pristine bank is contrasted nicely against the painting of the building consumed by a raging inferno.
Do y'all remember Alex Schaefer, the artist who would go around painting various real-world banks engulfed in flames?
I've been thinking about his work a lot lately, as we watch payment processors continue to punish people over porn.

They Donβt Want Their Companyβs Surveillance Tool Used by ICE
Thomson Reuters is best known for its media outlet and legal research tools, but it is also a huge data broker that provides investigative tools to the government, including ICE. Its Minneapolis workers aren't happy about that:

βAge Verificationβ could force trans people to out themselves to use the internet
Automated online ID checking systems add new potential dangers to having a mismatching ID.
For trans people, online resources and community are lifelines. The spread of age verification laws combined with anti-trans ID laws will block access to these lifelines. This is by design.

No one should have to submit to invasive surveillance practices to access the resources they need to survive and thrive. People should be raising hell about this! www.stoponlineidchecks.org

lot of people on this site soaking themselves stupid making posts like "stop saying gross shit is ok" when people are very clearly saying "you are allowed to think something is absolutely vile but trusting the government/companies/paypros w the morality barometer is HISTORICALLY really dumb"

While I think it's important to archive and preserve artwork, and have definitely been on the end of "I wish this artist I like hadn't nuked all their stuff", 110% no one owes it to me or anyone else to personally keep showing off any of their works they don't wish to anymore

This is so frustrating because this is like the exact scenario you try to explain to stupid puritan furries but theyβre always smugly in denial that it could ever effect them because surely theyβre not the weirdo creeps.
Even worse, it wasnβt even a slippery slope, just a straight up rug pull.

If I may don the tinfoil cap for a second, I think the increasingly absurd restrictions on adult content also have the very much intentional side effect of restricting, if not wholly destroying avenues for (largely marginalized) people to provide for themselves, sidestepping a precarious job market.

Hey, alongside contacting your representatives, this seems like another thing worth putting a bit of your time into and sharing around. If we could get "reputational risk" taken off the table, even in this current climate, that could create a chilling effect on these kinds of policies
