The 30% cut was also incredibly clear in said meeting with other people. Literally no one was hoodwinked.
It's got some of that Animal Crossing DNA, but it's also more like Dragon Quest Builders since the team behind that game also made this. I think it'll feel a lot like Minecraft too once you've progressed further and can build more things
Charmander: โOh NO! The berries! They all got squashed!โ while standing in front of Ditto and Prof. Tangrowth.
Just played about 1 1/2 hours of Pokopia! Liking it a lot so far, not super hyped like Iโve seen many others be but Iโve barely scratched the surface. Video coming soon! ๐

Very cool! I understand it'll be a while before we cars/bikes/horses/boats etc. so this is a good solution in the meantime
here's how to get around town faster in Paralives! ๐
Tough choice between Ready As I'll Ever Be, Nothing Left to Lose, and Let Me Make You Proud. I think Nothing Left to Lose wins because the back and forth between Varian and Cass adds more depth and shows how much their arcs relate to each other

Itโs not about what it is, but how it was said.
They contacted us in the last year about this "project". The idea sold to us creators was something like "do the same thing as you always do and earn extra money from us!". Unfortunately i can't say MANY things about it because there are contracts and i don't want to risk it for being dumb. I've decided i would be OUT of this thing as soon as november and now I read stuff I really didn't know about, all in here and from YOU, i made the last decision. There were many promises as they really do know how to target cc creators who are either greedy or financially struggling and I do admit that they caught my attention, but as the months got by and as they would ask more and more PERFECTION from us (note: i have no idea who else is at the program. They kept us all anonymous to each other by holding us accountable of "our little secret") i noticed this thing wasn't for me at all. I was REALLY just waiting for the bubble to burst or for them to announce it so I could finally be free to AT LEAST talk about it with you guys because i was SCARED of their contracts. This is now a recommendation to all the other cc creators who were caught in their webs: get out. You can just get out. They can't force you to stay. They can't force you to disappoint your community. It's OKAY to not know better. It's okay to make poor decisions based on your needs. But you need to get out as soon as you know better, or else excuses aren't gonna make you more palatable. Just stand up and get out.
Oh boyโฆ ๐ฌ
The Sims 4 marketplace situation gets worse. EA left out some details when recruiting creators. One bit of good news is itโs still possible for them to back out, as simandy and at least one other person have done.
And the keeping it โour little secretโ tactic sounds childish. Sheesh!
Congrats! Love the demo. Looking forward to the full version
On a positive note, I finished the Tangled animated series. Just cements my opinion even more that it's one of the most underrated pieces of media I've seen. Nice closure for Rapunzel, Eugene, and all the new characters. Some great songs. Love the movie but the series made me like Rapunzel more!
I've argued for years that kits are priced disproportionally to stuff packs that offer much more content, for only $5 more. Especially the newer stuff packs. Now even kits will look like a bargain. Agh!
Maxis employees even being against the marketplace says so, so much. It's astonishing how bad things are getting.
I was thinking of the people consuming the content, but I suppose it can apply to both. Pivoting feels like trying to catch lightning in a bottle however you do have a point. It's not impossible to be successful at it!
Yup...that's certainly not encouraging ๐
I wouldn't be so sure. If they can get away with The Sims 3 Store and kits, it's (sadly) not impossible for the marketplace to be very successful. If the people still in the network truly valued their friendships I think we'd have seen more leave after Royalty & Legacy's release
I've seen it happen so many times on Twitter. An artist gets commissioned. Then the client tries haggling them to an unfair payment while saying the exposure they'll get from the opportunity justifies it and they'll make so much more after. Feels just like that.
That's still a bad thing, and it puts even more money in EA's pockets.
They likely are being given a higher cut for being the creators who are helping them launch the program. For all we know they had no idea the normal rate would be 30%. But still, I can't defend pricing a cosmetic B/B set the same as a whole stuff pack or them participating in this at all...
As someone who has covered The Sims and other games for many years, unfortunately most simmers don't care about content on other games. There's very rare exceptions but sadly it is what it is even with the boycott. I wish things were different. Otherwise I wouldn't be fighting an uphill battle.

Yeah, now I get to be doubly disappointed in the CC creators who are not only still in the EA Creator Network, but ALSO doing this thing! Wheeee
How do Makers earn money? When players purchase Maker Packs in the Marketplace, Makers earn from those purchases through the official Sims Maker Program. Makers choose their own pack sizes and prices (within the Marketplace guidelines), and are empowered to determine the value of their content.
Oh what the heck
You know it's bad when you can't simply point the finger solely at EA
Why is one of the bedroom sets way more expensive than the others? $10? Hello??? That better be some kind of mistake or there's WAY more items not pictured because-๐
