Pokemon Odyssey completed on Hard Mode! What a wild ride that was, 10/10 ROMhack that I highly recommend! We also had an absolutely chaotic time in Oblivion too afterwards. I died a lot. And broke a save file. Oops.

Happy #mar10day! One of the oldest and best references to the Metroid series is the Invincibility Star animation in SMB3, which gives Mario a very distinct jumping animation where he somersaults like he's using the Screw Attack. It's quite deliberate and there's no questioning its significance.

I mean it blatantly does have stolen art, that part's been proven just by examining the wireframes of the models, but yeah you're spot on with the open cynicism being the thing that makes it a really sour creation.

Of course that all being said there would be a lot more benefit of the doubt to give if they weren't blatantly stealing not just from Pokemon but from artists making their own fan art too. Absolutely vile, contempt for everyone behavior.

It's not like when fangames/ROMhacks do the stuff they wish Pokemon would do, letting their overall love for it come forth into something really bright. Even the edgy pokemon ROMhacks are generally trying to accomplish something. The problem with these things is the openly cynical money grab[+]

I'm one of the people heavily critical of the direction Pokemon has gone. I was so excited for the future after Gen 7 and then the Switch era has just been so disappointing. I think what makes these ripoffs feel malicious is that there's a tone of open contempt as opposed to love for the original[+]
