Painting of Link with a million little gadgets and weapons from across the games. I worked harder on this in a 5 week period than any other thing Iโve ever painted. I think I almost died working on this lol
Happy Zelda 40th anniversary!

Survey: tell us how you're using AI GamesIndustry.biz is running an editorial survey (with no commercial involvement) to find out how the industry is using AI, how you think it should be used, and how it should be presented to players. It's quite short, simple, and anonymous, although there's the option to give your email address if you'd like to talk more. Please note this survey is only for those working in the industry, not the general public. You can fill out the survey here. The survey will run until Wednesday 25 February, and we'll be reporting the results as part of a run of coverage on GamesIndustry.biz, in an effort to look past the controversy and judge the impact AI is having on how games are made and marketed.
Gi.biz have a survey up about genAI usage, you know what to do comrades

Here's a small portion of an animated bumper I made to promote a video game from @owlcatgames.bsky.social (Blind Descent). Seeing the latest advances in generative AI and how they've invaded space, I feel lucky to have at least produced this little piece from start to finish ๐ฅฒ.
Notice reading: "Important: If you're located in the UK, you may be part of an experiment where your information will be processed by an age-assurance vendor, Persona. The information you submit will be temporarily stored for up to 7 days, then deleted. For ID document verification, all details are blurred except your photo and date of birth, so only what's truly needed for age verification is used."
Discord advises UK users that they "may be part of an experiment" where instead of their age verification data never leaving their phone, it will now actually leave their phone

Some music sampler generator progress in #substanceDesigner. Lots of things parameterised and grouped, lots of little bugs and quirks to iron out. Need more dial and button types, and ways to target specific sub module sizes to place them neatly.

I also came to ask about this, but generally just enjoying the Movink updates.
Been playing Final Fantasy X on the Steam Deck.
I thought I'd be more critical of it after 24 years, but turns out its even better than I remember.
Excellent game, great characters.
Aurochs ftw.
If I won the lottery, I wouldn't tell anybody
but there would be signs

Getting an unexpected surge of follows. Naturally Iโm suspicious, anyone else getting this?
I didnโt suddenly get more interesting over Christmas.
A title reads "Netflix: Recommended for you" (partially cropped). The thumbnail image is for the TV show Star Trek The Next Generation. A red label on the bottom of the thumbnail says "Leaving Soon".
A close up of the "Leaving Soon" label.
Netflix has been my Star Trek portal for 5 years now. I'm not sure if I keep the subscription without it.
Not particularly keen to join Paramount + though.
I meant to link the start of the thread, woops.
Normal maps are my favourite type of texture, closely followed by Ambient Occlusion.
If you're not familiar, this is a very charming thread of how they work:
Only properly sat down and watched an ep of TAS recently. Every time they showed the ship I was thinking how on point your renders are.
Stick a webcam, mic and speakers out the window aimed at your front door, start a zoom call with your phone. This definitely couldn't go wrong and is in no way silly and circuitous.
No Gods, no Kings, only Chicken-Foot Nana.
I think that's the first time the federation encounters replicator technology. Presumably the Vulcans didn't have this either.
A shot of an eggplant-shaped samurai helmet sitting on a wooden stand in a museum display case. It's made of darkened metal and has gold trim and accents.
A closeup shot of some buttons, fasteners, and ties on a small section of a samurai armor set's front chest plate. There are various ornate patterns, complex knots, and overlapping pieces.
A closeup shot of the thumb and forefinger of a European steel gauntlet inlaid with gold. It has bronze rivets and a white leather glove under the overlapping finger armor pieces.
A closeup shot of an extremely ornate double barreled shotgun's firing mechanism and trigger. The hammers are shaped like squirrels holding nuts and there is floral filigree everywhere.
Time for another reference dump!
This zip file contains 2,566 photos (6.58 GB) from the Metropolitan Museum of Art arms and armor collection. I tried to focus on the types of details you don't see in most available reference, like hinges and fasteners.
Enjoy!

Thank you to the over 5,000 people in Brighton Pavilion who signed the petition opposing mandatory digital ID. The debate was packed out!
I will continue to speak out against these dangerous proposals.
Netflix was laughed out of the room by Blockbusters for their business model. Now they're buying Warner Brothers. Wild.
A dramatic scene that shows the player about to be attacked by a huge bug!
Attention, aspiring citizens!
At the Federation request, we partnered up with @dotemu.bsky.social to work on a new ultra-realistic simulation: Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War!
