This situation reminds me of a joke on Not The Nine O'Clock back in the 80s that went something like, "The US is determined to make up for being late for the last two world wars by being early for the next one."
Starmer rarely gets it right, but on this, he HAS! This is an illegal war.

I thought similar to that when I read the accusation about coming late in to a war.

I now live in one of the countries where they put the Prime Minister in jail for breaking the law.
Starmer is a legal professional and is regularly and almost instinctively guided by legality.

Months of war and mounting US military deaths, "Should never have happened."
The inevitable 9/11 style terror attacks in retaliation for this illegal and unprovoked war should not happen.
Building on the peace treaty in place would have legally given a better outcome than a premature invasion.

I have lived under the imminent threat of being struck by lightning for 74 years but it hasn't happened yet.
