Last night we went to Seinfeld live. He was funny, mostly, but he and his opener went on these tired old bits about how horrible marriage is. It was sad.

We finally finished that Ken Burns Jazz documentary. 22 hours. That was a lot of jazz

Pretty fucked up that international women’s day only has 23 hours.

I think it's pretty important to understand that algorithmically-run platforms have long understood anger and argument drives much more engagement than just showing you stuff you like, and if you find yourself being made to despair at what a platform shows you, that is the system working as intended

I have a prediction that Pete will die in a extremely stupid military accident. Most likely friendly fire.

What if the whole reason for the invasion was to jack up oil prices so Trump could sell his dirty stolen Venezuelan oil?

I started using β€œRyber” on community BBS’s in the 80’s then stared using it on Usenet/IRC in 91. It’s an extension of β€œRYB” you could find on local video game high score lists going back to the early 80’s

Dirt on wet concrete in the shape of a car

I told the kids they needed to wash their car. I guess nature took care of it

I’ll add Living History Farms but it’s kind of expensive and you will spend a lot of time there, but kids like it.

Often adaptations in musicals can be pretty lightweight but The Outsiders was exceptionally well done.

Ok I finished Pluribus and I have issues with the food thing. When you harvest dry grains (wheat, corn, etc) the plant is dead. And an apple tree has evolved to support you picking its fruit (it’s basically having sex with you). So… I don’t get what the problem is here?

Oh I thought it was just that HyVee stopped carrying them as part of some deal with McCormick? Or are they gone from everywhere?

Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some zen to the feed

I think a core problem with a lot of people in the world is the inability to just accept that some things are weird.

I have a great love of all the little OS’s that never made it. Top of the list is BeOS, but Amiga, MacOS pre-x. OS/2 Warp which I still have disks for…

I live in an older neighborhood and for a long time only had mediacom cable or old phone DSL (3 megabit!). The city finally lifted the franchise rules and within 6 months there were 3 new fiber lines running in front of my house. Glorious.

One thing Star Trek got right is calling the computer "computer" rather than humanizing it.

So, is there a way to modify your β€œDiscover” feed? It has decided that I care about the Chicago Bears and I can assure you I do not in any fashion

The printer industry is interesting is a good example of a industry that was doomed and so enshittified their entire stack to try to squeeze the last bit of coin it could which resulted in them driving away consumers even faster. The fossil fuel industry is doing the same thing now.

I actually go by my middle name, which is a family tradition on my mom’s side. We all go by the middle. Nobody knows why.

If nothing else there is this little mall in Japantown that you would very much enjoy

22.02.2026 23:16 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

This only applies to local weddings I guess. If you are going to some destination resort wedding then enjoy but it’s not the same.

I hate when someone says β€œoh I went to x but it was for a wedding so I didn’t get to experience it” … no, you got to see a city in its primal form. As the people who live there experience it. That’s the BEST!
