Still practicing everyday, I've got a good grasp on how all the scale modes bridge together now and can improvise ok melodies if I know the chord progression. Here's some improv straight out of the 80's.

I'm not a fan of Lex, he wanders off on awkward tangents that aren't coherent, but I did listen to the podcast and it's pretty interesting hearing from Tim and his views on things around tech and what Epic has done and is doing. He did not ask Tim anything about his nature conservation work sadly.
I stopped playing TOK because its frame rate is terrible and it was making me a bit nauseous (I sit in front of a 48" OLED) definitely hoping for 60FPS modes for both games on S2.
Still playing a lot of guitar these days, still mostly just improve to random youtube jam tracks. Really starting to be able to find my way around the fret board these days, a few 'a hah' moments recently with scale modes.
I wonder if Nintendo should copy Valve and allow the Switch 2 to have its power profile and frame rate limit controlled by developers, you can get up to 7+ hrs at 45 FPS on the OLED SD. Rather than wasting energy running full tilt on low spec games.
Going through some old posters and found this relic from around 2003. The first game studio I worked at in Adelaide a lifetime ago.
Boy Reddit is struggling today, it's either overloaded with people justifiably freaking out OR it's been back doored by Trump stooges who are filtering every post looking for dissidents.
Nice save, literally! :)
Think of the strippers though Tom, imagine their knickers sagging like a coin sack.
Speaking of Lunar Flight, I had the honour of @scottmanley.bsky.social playing it 12 years ago. Years later, I had lunch with him at GDC where we had a few laughs, he's a great guy. www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzFY...
I've always adopted this belief, when I made Lunar Flight I knew it was niche but it was interesting and fun too me and I felt like there must be people out there that it would resonate with, it turned out it was way more people than I had anticipated. My next game is a game I want to play also.
Countries announcing stratospheric investments in AI is alarming, does anyone think the people in government have a fucking clue how it works and are only investing these ridiculous amounts of money out of FOMO.
We are doomed...
I can increase my spending on @iracing.bsky.social now :)
Liberated myself from Xbox Gamepass, Nintendo Online, Sony PP, Amazon Prime & Ad Fee, WoW, Netflix, Disney subscriptions today.
Little bit of Aus game industry history from the Elevation Partners merger of Bioware & Pandemic.
Duke 3D Atomic Edition!
1080p is fine but its weird to go back to LCD after the Switch OLEDs beautiful screen. Guess I'll wait for 'The New Switch2' revision, unless the LCD is a really good one with some great contrast ratio.
Would be a great Steam Deck title.
I just discovered that if I snip the edges of my shortcut bacon it stops it curling so it stays flat? ๐ฌ
Happy New Year! Spent the night watching Red Dawn with my wife who had not seen it before, I was shocked considering it had 80's heart throb Patrick Swazye in it and a very young Charlie Sheen, it was before Dirty Dancing and Ghosts though. Great movie for the time but dumb and made no sense at all.
Are you running your own dedicated server? It's a great time saver when you leave the production running overnight, I setup an old PC for it. ๐
Awesome!
Social media is for cats right? Here's our cats 'Furgus' 1yo, & 'Audrey' she's about 12 human years (Brown Tonkinese)
Did you get another one? ๐
I'm gonna sit on the fence until the reviews come.
Turrican 2 on the Amiga was my jam.
Here I am and what am I up to? Making my dream game with some awesome people.
Adventure awaits!
