No parkrun this weekend I had an enjoyable Audax riding the Horsepower 200 helpers ride yesterday with @peterharperuk.bsky.social and some other ACME regulars.
If you are riding next Saturday I look forward to stamping your brevet card in Lavenham
I found it quite easy, the app was so easy to use.
It was good chatting to everyone though.
Really enjoyed my volunteering this morning bar code scanning.

Volunteering at our local, Harlow.
Never volunteered before.
Looking forward to it.
All done 10 1/2hrs elapsed, with 4 stops. Macca’s, co-op, paddle at Dunwich 🥶🥶 and Subway.
Now on the way home.
Caught out by the sun and warm weather I’m pretty dehydrated.
You’d think I’d know better 🤦♂️

I did Sonsbeek a couple of years ago on a bike tour of the Netherlands. The park was stunning and the people so friendly. They even did the briefing in English for me and 2x South Africans.
Would love to go back at some point
Change of plan this morning after sitting on the M11 for over half an hour.
Instead of the new Watford #parkrun we went back to Gunpowder park.
Not nearly as quick as a year ago but my quickest of 2026 by a minute.
Apparently they ran out of tokens just after I went though and did the next 1000 people with raffle tickets and hand writing parkrun codes down.
But they were all amazing it was such a good atmospheres
Everyone there for a good time.
So results are in from Valentines #parkrun this morning.
There was 2331 of us. I finished 1334.
One of the high lights was getting to meet Dame Kelly Holmes. What a legend.

Valentines park in Ilford (East London)
Couple of thousand I reckon. Marshall’s and volunteers were amazing. But swamped. They expected approx 750-1000.
Of course I went to Valentines #parkrun on Valentine’s Day.
Heaving…. Queued for 20mins to get into the finishers funnel.
Great atmosphere though.
Marshals and volunteers were amazing.
Didn’t manage to find my daughter a BF… maybe next time 🤣🤣

I have the t-shirt, I’m fine with the colour but it’s banned in our house hold (Tottenham iykyk) and it’s moaned about when it was washed. I quite fancy the socks just to add a bit more red 😉

Slippery slidey XC #parkrun at Gadebridge this morning.
Nice course but it was quite hilly and soooo muddy.. I was just happy to not stack it or slide down a hill.
My 60th and another Hert’s parkrun ticked off.

I did Norwich a year or so back for their 666th, lovely little park but it was really congested with so many people there
Back to #parkrun on Saturday to complete my 60th.
Planning a trip to Gadebridge to tick off another Herts run and to finish our BeeGee’s challenge on the 5k app.
