Austin businesses urge the city to create bike lanes on 6th Street More than 50 local businesses sent a letter to city council members urging them to include bike lanes in their Sixth Street revamp project.

City of Austin staff intend to rebuild Sixth Street WITHOUT protected bike lanes. But the fight is far from over. A growing coalition — led by Safe Streets Austin — is pushing back.
