A lot of people gathered tonight outside the Department of Veterans Affairs in D.C. for a vigil memorializing Alex Pretti, who worked as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital.
They'll do this, and while certainly organizers can learn from MN's experience, Maine is a different place and the same things won't be possible there in exactly the same ways. But other things will be!
"Now, the volunteers in Maine say federal agents have started showing up at their homes and intimidating them or threatening arrest."

Golden (ME) won’t apologize and is not running for his seat. But also, the budget reconciliation bill last year funded ICE at insane levels through 2029. Stopping this years appropriations is meaningful symbolism but won’t stop ICE and CBP.
