You can measure the quality of news outlets' political coverage by how often they write headlines starting with the words "Trump says" that don't show any skepticism about what Trump is saying even though he's the most prominent American liar of modern times.
There's no rule of journalism that says you have to show a president telling lie after lie – uncorrected – many times a day. That's a decision that corporate media are making for purposes other than delivering the truth to the public.
He’s a national embarrassment.
But, but, but trump said he had defeated ISIS. 🙄
The key question in American politics now is whether public disapproval of Trump will grow fast enough to save our democracy before Trump builds such a crushing dictatorship that public opinion no longer matters.
The fact that Trump’s minders didn’t stop him from announcing his ridiculous, fake “pardon” on Truth Social should worry us all. A person with a loose grasp on reality and a lack of impulse control has the nuclear codes.
Trump has as much power to pardon Tina Peters on state charges as I have the power to award the 2025 World Series trophy to the Chicago White Sox.
