The Rochester subreddit this morning: "Hey, in case you didn't know, ice is slippery and you should be careful when walking on it."
Alright.
PA Route 6 on the motorcycle this weekend? What should I stop and see?
My objections mostly center around not wanting to be around more than a couple people at a time, max. Being unable to escape thousands of them within a couple of acres of deck space for days would give me an aneurysmπ
I'm "We constantly get mail ads for ocean cruises even though the idea of going on one horrifies me" years old.
My BFF and I went to a pre-show dinner at the venue when seeing The Cure three years ago. She looked around at the other diners and asked "Wait, how old are you?" I said 55. Her response was "Why does everyone else here look 70 and you look 40?"π
I knew that buying a motorcycle that gets 65+mpg was the right choice
If I was a software engineer who had to send an "I don't know how to fix that, can you do something on your end?" email I would fill my pockets with rocks and walk into a lake.
My favorite part of companies using AI-generated XML files for a well documented industry standard is how they completely hallucinate random element names and can't pass even the most basic validation checks.
Do those companies send them to us anyhow? Of course. Do they know how to fix them? No.
On the positive side, we now know that US anti-aircraft systems are pretty good at shooting down US aircraft
If you need the help of an artist for your book, talk to @hubblecreations.bsky.social, who made this gorgeous map for mine! π
I'm a little concerned about the target audience for recipes that feel the need to mention that you should peel garlic before mincing it.
What I associate with March Rainbows, suspended against anchor-gray clouds or thrown in multiples into my kitchen through the window prism Shamrocks and clovers and how they are not the same thing Orion and Sirius tiptoeing westward by the night saying their goodbyes till autumnβ Iβm sad to see them go, every year
Rain pounding on the roof pasting white plum petals to the paving stones beating upon brilliant violets but failing to bend them Spring equinox spawning my thoughts of Persephone breaking through turf into the sunlight and how Hades must miss her
Light and light and more light, drawing everyone out and though I want to stay cozy indoors, the return of the green everywhere, all tints of it, gladdens me And out I come too even if alone in the rain (especially then).
Hey, it's March.
A #poem (by me):
Also Em : "Did you know that someone wrote a song about us?"

Hmph.
"We're best friends because you brought car bread for our hangout"
MINE
I miss the days when attacks were named for random words found in the dictionary and not something that a 16yo incel would come up with to impress the people he mistakenly thinks are his friends
I feel like most people can't really appreciate the full extent of his awesome Dad-ness until your mid-20s, at least. Then it becomes goals, for people who choose to become a Dad.
Trump wants to get his approval numbers into the low teens because those are the numbers he likes best
News organizations should really be playing clips of all the US leaders saying last June that Iran's nuclear capabilities have been completely destroyed for years to come. On continuous loop.
MAGA: I love being a Republican because I don't want the government interfering with the free market and personal freedom to do business with whoever you want.
*Government threatens to force a company to do business with them, or else*
MAGA: Please Daddy, hit me again and tell me what to do.
My favorite posts are the ones where people complain about having massive monthly car payments of more than $1300 and how it negatively impacts their lives, but finish up with how much they love their $110,000 WankPanzer because it make them feel so safe.
Bought a new burner for our 1957-era oven last week and you'll never guess what 90% of my ads are for now
Go to the Penfield library and harass my wife, @kayteeem.bsky.social! π
On the positive side, you, uh, supported local contractors?
A bunch of the people who had big increases did eventually reveal they were on budget plans, so that, combined with no actual reads for incredible lengths of time made it all come crashing down at once.
Being able to see your hourly usage is so cool. Like you can tell exactly when we make dinner every night, now.
I want my "World's Best Internet Dad" mug now
That's a win!
I don't know if you're on the Rochester subreddit, but there are extremely common posts where people will complain about massive bill increases/etc, and it turns out 95% of the time that they had not had an actual read for, in some cases, years, until the catch-up payment arrives.
