It is a law as old as the hills:
Permit agents of the state to use violence against civilians to "maintain public order", and they will use it to advance private and particular interests.
Worth bearing in mind that illegal entry is a misdemeanor and being unlawfully present in the country is not even a criminal offense, but a civil one. This is the equivalent of saying we need to torch the Constitution & send in the SWAT team to catch jaywalkers & people with overdue library books.

What are they thinking? COVID in pregnancy leads to bad outcomes. Not getting COVID vaccine during pregnancy leaves babies < 6 months vulnerable to COVID hospitalization and death. Babies under 6 months have the 2nd highest COVID hospitalization rate after 75+! Outrageous and anti-science!
