THIS IS WHY I WATCH TOKU
THIS IS WHY I WATCH TOKU
Found a way to get One Must Fall 2097 to run in DOSBox, was fun to kick throuigh that game a bit. For speedrunning, tournajment (career) mode being hardest difficulty only is kinda rough. Considering throwing some of the shorter modes at retrothon.
(Directly countering the idea that the two are conceptually equivalent in any real way takes more than one tweet) :p
(Brossentia literally referred to their experience with the word blind as informing their actions here) :p
crazy is a mash-down of 'abnormal in a way that defies reason/societal standards' except when it's used to denigrate people by calling them crazy, as in, what they do defies reason and societal standards. a much worse word
i don't think the survey's going to help much
blind is meaningful and descriptive in the english language: you can be blinded by dust, flying blind, going in blind, etc. there's not a great substitution
Interesting information, as my mother was telling me about how her grandmother never actually got US citizenship after moving to the US from canada earlier this month. Might have to run that down.
wait, WHAT? that's a thing?
is this what I ran into in the wee hours this morning?
I'd assume you can, they're just higher or lower pitched trumpets mechanically
that first pic, immaculate vibes
great confidence builder. people feel good about rule enforcement when it's visible, swift, and just.
it's wild that this is going to be used to explain away anything that was actually fucked up by the BBB
It's definitely a known experience, other players have seen it, it's just a rare one for baetyls to be a sultan cult choice.
Everything you've said, along with the fact that you usually came back to it repeatedly, over long periods of time, rest, and percolation, is why this mythologization of 'we just had to figure it out in my day' continues to be bullshit.
Welcome to Option WINDOW in Driving RPG Racing LAGOON. By SQUARE 1999.
hell yeah
Feeling exceptionally overwhelmed today. Not great.
it's all a combination of signaling (freedom, independence, cost) and the overall ignoring of how dangerous cars are baked into the US mindset, right?
I can't transcribe all the text here, sorry. It's 65 different Baetyl requests in Caves of Qud, from the same tile of the world, which I copied out via screenshots so I could manage them outside of the interface.
So playing the Caves of Qud daily from 2 days ago, last night I ran into ~65 baetyls in one place. The interface is not built to make managing that easy, sadly, so now I have this cut-and-pasted together image to work from. Necessary? No. Optimal? No. Interesting? You bet.
A screenshot from a prompt in Caves of Qud for Yappotrice, legendary dawnglider. Traveller, we've been reading the village anals and we learned of a nearby location forgotten to our people, Haazolep Dihedron. What mysteries might this place contain? Warm rocks? Warm rocks? A shrine to mysterious strangers? We must know. If you find it for us, we will reward your services. What do you think? We hear that it's located next to Marquppir. You can say yes or no to this prompt.
Caves of Qud, you have such infinite charm. Warm rocks? Warm rocks?
what can I say, I'm so fucking humble
(i'm deep in the qud experience mines, feel free to reach out at any point if you want, although obviously there's value in just experiencing on your own)
When saps go from 'ha ha cute electricity damage' to 'what do you mean 'permanently' you little shits'
Yeah, like, it was possible Long Long Ago to melt things to lava and exchange the valuable lava for goods and services or something. Just the wildness caught my brother, who showed me, who explored the game with him at the time, and I've revisited Qud 1-2 times a year since.
I revisited FFTA and FFTA2 recently b/c someone was playing FFT, via Retroachievements. I picked up a bunch of wizardries because I recognized I was playing Dragon Quarter, which comes directly from Japan's wizardry tradition, so I wanted to go to the source, right?
Like.. I have re-engaged with games from my past due to speedrunning, or achievements, or friends interacting with them, as well as angles like that being the way that I discover a game, like Racing Lagoon. I got into Qud b/c my brother saw a video like 7 years ago of a guy exploiting lava money.
There's this kinda push-pull flow long term cycle, right, in terms of revisiting things that may be in the middle of the two. In addition, Retroachievements has helped people I know recontextualize games that were not, like, top tier before, but with a new angle.
Pretty great for Trump.
This is a disconnect I see in my mind:
I do want to be informed of possible solutions to my problems. Passive information on that front, actually kinda useful for me.
Marketing want to make sure I spend the most money possible for the longest period of time for the worst possible solution.
