Yeah, my recollection (dim though it may be) is that clothes were made of furs back then, and probably the furs would have had holes made in the with awls, then sewed with the needle.
I'm not a professional, though, just a well-read information magpie. π
You load 16 server racks, what do you get?

Freelancers, how much time have you spent refreshing your contact list? Getting in touch, letting them know what youβve done lately.
Sometimes you just have to remind people youβre around and have some time. Next thing you know, youβre working together.
Take the first step.
Exactly! If I could hold that sewing needle in my hand, on some level I can feel like 13k years disappeared in an instant.
It can become, in my imagination, as if the last person who touched that needle set it down, and then I picked it up. Just two people, and a tool we both know how to use.
Yes yes yes! I'm a docent in an art museum, and it's great, but I really get just as excited (or maybe even more) about the tiny little things that are from the daily life of someone who lived hundreds of years before I was born.
I sew. A person 13k years ago sewed with this needle. Blows my mind.
"Workers of the World, Unite!" - A portrait of Karl Marx, surrounded by verses from the Koran supporting the oppressed. Artist: Hassan Musa. Sudan, 2012.
records from three additional interviews with a woman who accused Trump of sexual assault were "incorrectly coded as duplicative"? oh for sure, definitely passes the smell test
I see that! I am so excited to read it!!!
The beautiful cat who looks like Theoden but with blue eyes will, sadly, not work out for us. We are not the home for him. He needs a quieter home.
We're still thinking about possibly getting a cat sooner rather than later, though, after talking it through. We'll see.
Yep. βKnowing who to be mad at is praxisβ is Mariame Kabaβs quote and it is wisdom for these times. (1/2)
Okay, I need to look into this!
Ooo, I love these books but am a few behind. Must get caught up so I can read the new one!
Time to deploy a B5 quote. AGAIN
This cat is SUPER cute, so probably he's already taken or they're overwhelmed with inquiries, or he was surrendered for attaching himself to the face of any child who came near him.
But I have to find out.
Well, I told the husband and he pointed out that Squidling is great with my mom's cat and neighborhood cats, and said "Just email them to ask about the cat's history and personality and all that."
So. Um. I may have sent an email inquiry to the shelter.
Lrs: Whedon should get the Lovecraft treatment, he used his toys to hurt actual living people so now they get taken away from him and people who will play nicely get to use them. Those serial numbers come right off π§΅
Happy birthday to Waffles! ππ
What a dream! πππ
Thank god he's in foster, or I'm not sure I could handle this.
He's beautiful. He'll be adopted quickly. I'm not worried about him, I'm worried about me.
The Squidling is definitely not ready for a cat, and we definitely will not make the same mistake we did last year of adopting an animal our family is not ready for, but omfg there's a cat in foster at Seattle Animal Shelter who looks like a blue-eyed Theoden and I am dying over the two pictures.
Spoiler: No, supplements are proven to do nothing. "Wellness" is a global $7T industry, so-called "Big Pharma" is less than half that at $3T, and their drugs have undergone trials and been proven safe and effective. Supplements make broad claims without proof, it's snake oil.

I used to be shocked at how much friendlier Americans are to strangers than Indians before I realised that people in this country are starving for friendships and contact. It's why you ask a perfect stranger in Seattle how they're doing and 5 min later you have their whole life story vs a "fine"
Everyone, take a moment to look at this ridiculous little fluffball. It is a baby kakapo.
These adorable idiots were in so much trouble that in 1995 there were only 55 of them. Now, if this breeding season continues as successful as it's started, there might be as many as 300.

Hey Elkton, MD, and surrounding Atlantic states: Remember Montyβs tragic glow-up post-Humane Society adoption? You can have a full-of-potential handsome tripod of your VERY OWN to spoil all the way to eventual glory πππ
This chart also applies to writing fiction, FYI.
Huh. I am realizing now that I have no idea what the great-grandpas on my mom's side did. I've heard a story about my great-grandpa on my mom's side throwing candy bars to bears at Yellowstone, but I have no idea what he did for work!
Must get my mom to retell that story, though.
