I think the broken state/exploits ended up being super beneficial to its success, as all those playground rumors and myths always seemed so plausible. Mew could be under that damn truck when Missingno magically gives you unlimited Rare Candies and Masterballs.

They really are! So, in Red, Venonat is weak to Poison, Oddish is resistant, they both should be neutral. Tenacool resists Grass, which should also be neutral damage. Mean while, Psychic is immune to Ghost, but it doesn't matter because Lick sucks.

Man, Pokemon Red aged very poorly. Typing effectiveness is wild, especially with Poison.
