It just depends on how long you’ve been doing it. With less than 5 years in the field that is probably true. But once you’ve been in web work for 10, 15, 20 years? You’ve seen it all and can do it all.

Mark your terminology here is an issue. If you log in and use their services this is an issue. But the model is open source and if you download it and run it locally it doesn’t transmit anything.

In this case downloading is good.

I wrote my first langchain app in JavaScript tonight. I used both web and pdf content to create a vector store and ran queries on that data using deepseek-r1 running locally on ollama.

That’s the nerdiest thing I’ve said in years.

I don’t know if AirPods are special. Or if the tech has changed since my last trials. Or maybe I am old now and not as sensitive as I once was.
