I mean, I am sure there would be all sorts of domestic backlash from the GOP, and John Roberts et al would probably say it is illegal/unconstitutional, but.....

I'm not sure what you mean by "outraged" here, but the point is that it was a strategic error that Democrats can and should avoid replicating in the future, and elected Democratic officials (especially at the state level) can start now by moving their official communications off X.
